The Benghazi Massacre story has taken another bizarre twist. The narrative popping out yesterday as U.N. Ambassador / Would-be Secretary of State Susan Rice was grilled on The Hill was that, since the FBI had been called upon to investigate the cause of the massacre, they didn't want the truth to come out until their investigation was complete. Going one step further, the FBI now claims that it changed the CIA talking points memo that Rice supposedly relied upon in making her claims that it was all about protests over the You Tube video.
Remember they first blamed Petraeus and Petraeus acknowledged he had said it was You Tube caused. Then, he changed his story and said that his CIA Talking Points Memo had specifically said it was Al Qaeda. Clinton said she would take responsibility and promptly left town. Then Clapper, the Director of National Intelligence denied changing the Petraeus memo. Then, it came out that the original memo, the uncut version, had been sent to every Tom, Dick and Harry involved in intelligence, including the White House. The White House denied changing the memo. Clapper caved in and admitted that he was the culprit. And now, the FBI says they were the ones to make the changes.

What is clear and not contested is that Clinton, Petraeus, Clapper, the FBI and the White House all knew the real story: the Benghazi Massacre was the result of a terrorist attack. Subsequent to that knowledge being passed around, not only did Susan Rice trumpet the You Tube story to five networks, but Obama also went on the airwaves and reelection tour to claim the same thing. So, obviously, Obama knew the real story but was at the very least complicit in the coverup.
But, why the coverup in the first place? Learned and knowledgeable people in the media, Congress and elsewhere generally agree that Obama didn't want the true story to come out before the election because he and his Democrat lackeys had been vociferously bragging about the killing of Bin Laden and Obama's assertion that he had presided over the decimation of Al Qaeda. The Benghazi Massacre was a direct contradiction of that assertion and that assertion had become a focal point of the reelection campaign.
So, faced with what could be the undoing of his reelection, the President called out all of his horses and men and told them what the political storyline would have to be. He created the lie and he, among others, perpetrated it. Once the truth started to ooze out, they had to camouflage and stonewall and hold things together, spinning and lying more every step of the way. And now... they're finally in the trap.
Well anything come of it? I still doubt it.
