ILLEGAL ALIENS ARE ILLEGAL ALIENS

SPECIAL POST

Can you image the audacity of Mexicans who are crossing our borders illegally standing up and demanding that we stop calling them "illegal aliens" or "illegal immigrants?"  This is not a request, it is a demand by the Society of Professional Journalists and others who feel the names are degrading and demeaning to the illegals.

Well folks, if they don't like what we call them, they could sure as hell stay in Mexico and not cross our border illegally.  I've had enough of their coming to our country illegally and then telling us what the terms of their illegal stay are going to be.  They can pack their wetback butts back across the border and stay there, and I hope that those who are here legally will help them pack.

That's MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.

PAT ROBERSTON, THE HYPOCRITE

SPECIAL POST

Pat Robertson, the so-called staid Christian Conservative, has come out in favor of decriminalizing the use of marijuana. His reasoning: sending young offenders off to prisons for the use of marijuana turns the poor souls into hardened criminals.

Well, I’m not going to even debate the use of marijuana here, because that is not the issue. What IS the issue is that he has taken the stance that sentencing a murderer to 40 years in prison should be discontinued because the offender will only come out as a hardened criminal. How can you justify getting rid of the penalty for the commission of a crime on that basis?

It’s this distorted reasoning that is turning this country into a permissive socialistic state without mores and morals. The plain fact of the matter is that if you don’t want to go to jail, don’t commit the crime. If you commit the crime and come out as a hardened criminal, it is YOUR fault, not ours.

It seems to me that, in the same breath, this man of the cloth would tell you not to violate any of the Ten Commandments but, if you do, there should be no punishment attached. Or, is he simply saying that we should just toss the Ten Commandments all out because enforcing them is only going to cause misery anyway? Where in God’s infinite wisdom does that line of thinking come from?

Now, as for the legalization issue, I have seen lives ruined by the use of marijuana. But, I am open to being convinced that what I saw was a figment of my imagination. My mind is not closed on the issue, but it almost is. So, for me that is another argument for another day.

Now that he has displayed this line of reasoning, I can say beyond a doubt that I sure as hell am glad he never became President.

That's MY AMERICAN OPINION, the last one of the year, respectfully submitted.

OST SHUTS DOWN MORE BLOGS AND WEBSITES

SPECIAL POST

The Obama Storm Troopers have summarily shut down more blogs and websites, ostensibly for the illegal use or sale of copyrighted materials.  Now, I've said it before and I'll say it again: if they are violating the law, they should be shut down... legally.

Yes, there is a legal process in the country.  You give notice of the alleged violation and the opportunity to cease and desist or explain yourself.  If that doesn't work, you go to a Court and get a Court Order to shut the site down, so you have judicial review.  Then, the site owner can fight it in Court and it will be decided upon its merits.

This is the third time I am aware of where the feds have simply summarily shut down webs and blogs without notice, without judicial review and without the opportunity for the accused offenders to have any kind of hearing whatsoever.

Why isn't the media investigating and reporting these "storm trooper" activities?  Can they close THIS blog down because they don't like hearing the truth?

That's MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.

HOLDER LEFT HOLDING THE BAG

SPECIAL POST

Julian Assange or Assang, has proven himself to be as elusive as the spelling of his last name.  The Wikileaks owner/operator who admitedly has been spilling America;s nation security beans, has been holed up for about a week in a British prison on an arrest warrant from Sweden for an alleged sex crime.

The Brits have decided to let Assange out on bail.  As of the time of this post, Sweden has about an hour left to appeal and there is the possibility he may not get out of the can right now.

So, now comes the question.  Since our illustrious Attorney General hasn't had to devote his energies to finding Assange for the past week, why hasn't he at least put together enough of a case to bring some charges against Assange in order to influence the Brits to keep him behind bars?

Once again, one of Obama's top echelon has proven themselves to be beyond incompetent.

That's MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.

WHITE HOUSE MAGIC

You’ve got to hand it to Obama; he’s a skillful magician. He can make bad news disappear in a heartbeat. In recent weeks for example, think about the horrible news from the November elections. Obama got onto his 747 and flitted off into the sunset and the news media immediately focused on his trip; the bad election news got very much downplayed. Then there was North Korea attacking South Korea right after South Korea snubbed Obama’s trade agreement. That piece of bad news got relegated to the third page of the comic section.

Wikileaks came along and the North Korean situation disappeared. Wikileaks was making Obama’s national security look like a slew of kids playing in a sandbox, so Obama made a tax deal and…poof! Wikileaks was gone! More recently, he invited Clinton over for a White House beer and now the tax cut dilemma is exiting to stage left. The right wing media had to ask if Obama was so weak that he needed to lean on Clinton to rescue him and…. It looks like the subject of the New York mosque is about to change the subject yet again!

But, all of these magic tricks are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the Obama prowess. Have you noticed that he’s back to having more face time on TV than Leno and Lettermen combined? As matter of fact, we’ve gotten so used to his mug on TV that he has actually become part of the average American household, like the family dog…. Or the boar, if you live out west.

Let’s face it. This guy is so vain and so egotistical that someone mentioned he looks like a bimbo with a cigarette in his mouth and he quit after smoking after 40 years of the habit.

In fact, when you examine the Obama psyche, you hit a brick wall. Nobody can figure out who he really is. That’s because he’s got more sides to him than the pentagon. And, of course, there are his tricks. I used to say that Clinton had more tricks up his sleeve than Houdini, but Clinton doesn’t hold a candle to Obama. The only problem is that Obama is clumsy; he can’t pull off a trick without showing his dirty underwear.

That’s MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.

OUTRAGEOUS WHITE HOUSE WAIVERS

SPECIAL POST

We are now learning about one of the sneakiest, dirtiest rotten tricks that any White House Administration has ever, ever laid on the American people.

Word is finally wafting out of the Pennsylvania Avenue sewer house that they are granting waivers to many major companies and the unions regarding the new Obamacare Health Plan.  That is, those with waivers do not have to comply with the mandates.

Small business owners, individuals, and those without the right "clout" at the Oval Office are still stuck with the plan, which means that costs per person will escalate.  MacDonalds is one of several major national companies exempt from complying; they asked for the waiver because they would otherwise have to lay off 30,000 employees.  They got their waiver, while Mr. and Mrs. America who run a small hamburger joint down the street did not and will have to close.

What's worse, these waivers are being granted for the purpose of eroding public opposition to the plan; Obama told all of his Czars to keep their lips shut about the waivers.  Of course, big secrets like this always leak out.

We should be outraged and we should demand an explanation for this outright bullshit that has been so unceremoniously dumped on the American public.  And, Merry Christmas to you, too, Mr. President, you sneaky pariah.

That's MY AMERICAN OPINION, angrily submitted.

A HOLIDAY SALUTE FOR OUR MILITARY

There is so very much crappy news floating about as we head into the end of the year. Wikileaks. Taxes. Debt Commission. Foreign bank and business bailouts in the trillions of dollars. George Soros. FTC takeover of Internet when Congress voted it down. Immigration and border drug battles. North Korea, Iran, Afghanistan and Iraq. Super X-Rays and pat downs. U.S. taxpayer money being used to fund the Muslim mosque at the World Trade Center. Rising jobless claims. Housing foreclosures.

Where does it all end? When do we get ticked off enough that we literally march on Washington and throw the bums out? Where do I start?

Well, I’m going to start by setting all of those sources of anger aside and talking about a matter of utmost urgency.

It’s been eight years since we sent our young men and women overseas. When we ran out of regular servicemen and women, we called up the active reservists and sent them overseas disrupting their lives, their incomes, their families and their futures. Most of them have served more than one tour of overseas duty. We have not only devastated their standards of living, we have also put them in harm’s way, and thousands of them have come home injured while a few thousand more have come home in caskets.

For their part, the military men, women and families have largely been treated by the country like floating curds in a Christmas punch bowl. The left treats them like war criminals. Congress wants to cut or freeze their pay. Obama wants them to pay for their own medical care. If stationed overseas, they are not able to vote in national elections. We shun them when we see them in an airport or on the street.

How this nation can turn their backs on our military families in such a cavalier way, I will never know.

In this season of family, of giving and sharing, let us not be part of these injustices. Let us seek out military families living in our communities and invite them to dinner. Would it not be great if every community held a community-wide event and threw a party for them? At the very least, send a greeting card, but a $25 or $50 gift card to Wal-Mart or Target is not a bad idea, either.

I ask you to set aside the problems of the nation for just a moment, long enough to let our military men and women and their families know that we do care.

That’s MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.

HOW DENSE CAN THEY BE?

SPECIAL POST

The failure of the Senate to pass legislation stopping earmarks, and the fact that several Republicans voted against the proposal, is prima facie evidence that the bastards have not learned their lesson. I’m sorry to put it that way, but that’s just how I feel.

I don’t think we’re going to get rid of the damned Health Care Plan and we’re going to end up with higher taxes while the sons-of-bitches keep right on spending. It seems that things are adding up that way.

It’s looking more and more as if we’ll have to have a million-citizen march on Washington to get in their faces.

That’s MY AMERICAN OPINION, angrily submitted.

IS BUSH REALLY A PATRIOT?

George W. Bush has been out and about, touting his new book that is supposed to give insight as to what a President faces and the decisions that he makes. I am not going to take issue with or discuss the merits of that book, but I do have a problem with something he said on the O’Reilly “Factor” show on Fox. The essence of his remark was that he has no intention of involving himself with the business of the country any longer because he has done… completed his service to his country.

Maybe that is what, in my mind, will be the principle reason why he will never be considered to be a great President and may well eventually end up in the lower one-third of his class. In going where I’m going, I am in no way subscribing to the Al Gore or John Kerry theories about how to run the country. Putting Bush up against either of these jerks would still be a “no brainer” for me; I’d vote against Gore or Kerry, but not necessarily for Bush.

Understand that both sides of my family go back to the 1600’s as far as being residents of this continent. So, my issue is naturally this: Just when does your duty to our country end? Is it after you serve in the military? Is it after you retire as a civil servant? Is it after you serve eight years as President? Or, is it after your patriotic fanny lands in a cemetery?

I recently read a pro/con opinion in the November 2010 issue of U.S. NEWS & WORLD REPORT. The gist of the question posed was whether or not Americans should serve their country in some manner. The arguments were along the lines of yes, and it should be required versus yes, and it should be voluntary.

Well, is this your country or not? How far are you willing to go to defend your country and your way of life? Should defending your country be mandatory, or should you be able to skate, (let somebody else do the heavy lifting so you can reap the benefits)?

I am flatly amazed at the number of military personnel who lose limbs, eyesight, hearing and so forth, who want so desperately to continue on in the service of their country. When you talk to a Viet Nam vet, one of those gray-haired old geezers who got so badly mistreated by our country for doing their job, every one of them to the last man will tell you that they will not hesitate to stand up and fight for their country today or tomorrow. Some are crippled, old, feeble…. Yet willing to fill in for an able-bodied man or woman in a desk job so that person can in turn go fight.

Countless Americans have dedicated their lives to the betterment of their country and I’m not just talking about paid civil servants. People have served on community advisory boards, they have served in lower-level elected or appointed positions, they have volunteered with different agencies or organizations and they have given, given and given to support America and its citizens.

Given my heritage, I don’t know how any man or woman can say that they have given enough to their country. Bush is a young man and still can give plenty to his country. If the enemy came knocking at his doorstep, how far would he get by saying that he was retired from being an American; he’s done his job? He’s contributed all he needs to contribute?

Somehow, this attitude implies to me that our duty to country has prescribed limits beyond which we do not need to venture. Well, I’m sorry, but I simply must disagree. Our duty to country begins the day we are born and it doesn’t end until the grim reaper wins the day. The failure of a large portion of our country to recognize this fact and to abide by its rule is the very reason we are in the trouble we are in today. Had we been vigilant as Americans, had we always been willing to stand up for what is right and to condemn what is wrong, we would not be in the moral, ethical and economical quagmire in which we find ourselves today.

We need to gather our strengths and seek out the compass of continuous and passionate service to country so that we can, indeed, take it back. We must not rest or retire from our obligation to ourselves and our children to always, every minute of every day, be American.

Sorry, George. You’re a cop-out.

That's MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.

NORTH KOREA ATTACK

North Korea attacked South Korea.

South Korea is an ally of the United States.

There once was a time when no country would think of attacking an ally of the United States.

What happened, Barack?

HODGE PODGE OF MALARKY

Where do I start? Do I dwell on the pervert TSA agents who are getting paid to grope, fondle and feel-up the traveling public and who are going to be unionized at the behest of the President so we’ll have a hard time firing them? Do I talk about the Bush tax cuts or the immigration problem? I could spend two posts talking about the continued arrogance of the “political elite” in Washington who have yet to come to grips with the fact that we Americans don’t like them.

Maybe that last sentence gives me a lead into what I really want to discuss. The plain fact is that Congress has declared itself to be above and beyond the law and ethics and they have not changed their ways. To start off with, the Democrats elected Pelosi to lead their House members again, thereby totally endorsing every damned thing she did to us in the last two years, from health care to stimulus and everything in between. This was a big vote and she had a substantial number of new Democrats voting for her, Democrats who lied to their constituents when running in 2010 by distancing themselves from her and the unpopular legislations she championed.

Shame on them. Out they go in 2012. Keep track of their names.

The real story about the House of Representatives is the Charlie Rangel story. This guy falsified his income tax returns. He used political power for his own personal gain and benefit. He lied under oath. Not only did he do these things, but he did them over and over again. He thumbed his nose at the system in place to deal with people like him. His peers found him guilty and then didn’t even give him a slap on the wrist.  Good God, Wesley Snipes just got three years in the can for his tax problems! How can you justify sending Wesley to the can and letting Charlie off?

In doing so, his peers told Americans like you and me that we deserve to go to jail for the things Rangel did, but Rangel gets off because he is a Member of Congress and a friend of Pelosi. And, their actions flaunted the law that they swear to uphold when they take office. In short, our government has evolved into a dictatorial body that considers itself to be immune from any prosecution. Certainly, they have just proven themselves to be unwilling to accept an overwhelming public order issued on November 2nd to cut this crap out.

I’m beginning to think that we are going to have to make every single member of Congress subject to recall by the voters. It’s not a good or effective way to run a government, but how else are we going to hold these people accountable for their actions? One thing is certain: 2010 did not get the job done. We made substantial progress, but we are going to have to repeat ourselves in 2012. At least we are all awakened now to what we are facing in Washington and we have two years to study the situation and size up who we are going to get rid of in 2012 well ahead of the game.

In closing, let me say this about Murkowski. She won her seat with less than a majority vote in the state. Yes, she beat Miller, but she did not have 50.1% of the vote; she had somewhere in the 38% range, which means that 62% of the Alaskans did not vote for her or voted against her. How can she possibly justify running around telling people how much the Alaskans really need and support her?

Something has to change. Things in our American political system are not right.

That’s MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.

OBAMA MAKES A HUGE BOO BOO

SPECIAL POST

It was negotiated and all but signed, sealed and delivered before Obama even got onto Air Force One; a huge trade deal with South Korea that would create some 90,000 jobs in the United States was to be a major accomplishment of Obama's recent trip abroad.  Unfortunately, he came back empty handed.

How can that be?  What happened?

I have said many times before that Obama is extremely self-centered and very, very arrogant.  As it turns out, the negotiations have been going on for years and it was a delicate dance to the end.  When South Korea finally agreed to the treaty's terms, that was indeed a major breakthrough.

But, while flying to Asia, Obama decided that he wanted more.  In fact, he decided that he wanted specific terms to protect American union workers written into the treaty.  And, as I understand it, he tried to sneak the language in without so much as a tidbit of discussion before the deal was to be signed.  When the South Koreans discovered this attempt, they were rightfully furious.  Obama tried to give it a shrug and a bow, but he almost had to back himself onto Air Force One and get the hell out of town before he got a real shellacking.

My God, doesn't he have class?  Such charisma!  (I don't know for certain, but I hear that even Hugo Chavez has asked for his book back.....)

HOW TO FIX SOCIAL SECURITY

Let me start off by saying that I have a difficult time watching an uncontrolled Congress eat away at my income and my lifestyle every day while they spend, spend and spend. The fact that they are discussing raising the retirement age, increasing contributions and curtailing cost of living adjustments is an open and shut admission that they feel they have the unchallenged right to spend my every last dime. Mind you, they day will come when we can no longer work enough hours in the day to support their lavish spending habits and we will then all become puppets of the state.

The conversation inevitable turns to the shabby shape that Social Security is in and the need to either get rid of it or to modify it drastically. To me, that is simply more political rhetoric designed to get around the issue at our expense. Social Security can be fixed easily and simply. Here’s how:

  1. The government pays back to Social Security every last nickel it has borrowed or stolen over the decades; in the future, no one can latch on to those funds.
  2. A commission is named to head the Social Security Program consisting of three members of the Senate and three from the House, of which at least two of the six must be Republican and two Democrat. In addition, the commission includes the head of Social Security and six members of the public who do not hold any government positions. They choose their own chairperson from among themselves. Terms are three year terms.
  3. No one who is drawing Social Security today has any changes whatsoever to their benefits or adjustments.
  4. The commission oversees the operations and policy-making of the department and makes legislative recommendations to the Congress. The commission may invest any excess funds on hand in high-end stocks, bonds and funds in which various government agencies are now allowed to invest.
  5. Individuals are allowed to withdraw earned benefits prior to retirement and invest them in IRA’s or similar retirement schemes providing they cannot have access to the funds until they retire.
  6. Ten percent of all money legislated for pork or earmarks will be paid into the social security fund until it is fully solvent.

Now, #1 and #6 will surely doom this idea from the get go because there’s not one single member of Congress with the family jewels to comply. And, of course, Congress will never put itself into a position where it cannot steal money from Social Security. If you think this is a joke, wait ten years and see what has happened to the federal funds that are supposed to be spent on the new Health Care programs.

That’s MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.

SOON: MONEY, MONEY EVERYWHERE!

SPECIAL POST

Ben Bernanke has issued the orders to the Treasury to print hundreds of billions of additional American dollars. My God, we’re all going to be rich! I don’t know why no one has thought of this before!

Just think, you could be making two or three times as much money as you are today. Of course, those who are on a fixed income will still be making the same, but the rest of us lucky bastards could be making six…even seven…figure incomes in a very short period of time. Isn’t this just ducky? That $5,000 credit card balance can be covered in one paycheck! Hell, we can pay the $250,000 mortgage in a year! Yes, yes, yes!

To hell with the poor folks on fixed incomes, social security, welfare or extremely low incomes. Yeah, I feel sorry for them, but I’ll get mine! Yes, I want to buy that new Mercedes on the showroom floor. Huh? ONE MILLION DOLLARS?!!! YOU’VE GOT TO BE OUT OF YOUR TREE!

$5.00 for a loaf of bread? $5.00 for a beer? $5.00 for a glass of milk? $10.00 for a gallon of gas?

What if you are on the other side of this equation? Suppose you’re the mortgage holder who loaned you the $250,000 for your house and now that $250,000 is worth, in terms of current money, only $75,000? How much leniency is he going to give you if you miss a payment? For that matter, how much leniency is China going to give us if we miss a payment?

Obama says he wants to help the poor. There’s no help here for the poor; if you can manage to scrape by with $15,000 a year, how can you survive when your basic living expenses triple?

This sham is one great big lie, and it has to be stopped. People without money, as most of the country is today, are going to get screwed big time.

That’s MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.

THE TEA PARTIES: What’s Next?

America’s Tea Parties have come out of nowhere and in less than two years have become a strong and viable political force. Their influences over this last election were, to say the least, profound.

Now, what’s next? Will the Tea Parties wither up and die on the vine?

Frankly, I hope not. There were other political forces out there at play as well and they were somewhat more sinister and hell bent on having their ways, regardless of what the laws or the commands of ethics say. The unions, for example, were shameless in their bribes and outright coercion used to secure votes for their favorite candidates. When the dust settles, I will not be surprised if it is revealed that the remnants of ACORN were also at play.

There were substantial gains made. Unfortunately, the Tea Parties got too close to the Republicans in some parts of the country. In the days after the election, I already have to wonder if the Republicans have learned the real lessons of what this election was all about; only the coming days and weeks will tell that story. One thing is certain: Obama and his far-left-wing cohorts are not going to lie down and work with the Republicans; they may say so publicly, but watch what they actually do.

While significant progress was made in cleaning house, much remains to be done. It will really take another house cleaning in 2012 to have the full and desired effect. And, it is too early to see how the 2012 Presidential race is going to shape up. We could end up with two candidates equally unfit for the office, as has been the case for 22 years.

Could the Tea Parties coalesce into a genuine political party and field their own candidates in 2012? In recent decades, third parties have been totally unsuccessful in their bids to become viable political forces. This time, however, things are different. Voters see the differences between the Democrats and the Republicans as being very blurred, almost as if they are the same party. It should be remembered that, historically, the Republican Party and the Democrat party were in fact one and the same.

Should the Republicans once again fail, as they have so profoundly failed in recent years, then the real need for a new party emerges. The Tea Parties have made their mark as a political force, and they need to seriously consider whether or not they will now coalesce into a full-fledged political party. Frankly, I would welcome the move; we need to demonstrate to Congress that we are not just frustrated Americans who do not know what we are doing. We are well aware of what is going on and we want our own brand of "change."

That’s MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.

WELL DONE, AMERICA

SPECIAL POST

Americans stood up yesterday and let Washington know that it is not happy.  Incumbents got tossed out left and right.

Oh, there were some disappointments.  Harry Reid, Barbara Boxer and Barney Frankfarter are three that come to mind.  One could lament that the Republicans didn't take the Senate, but that is not what the race was all about.  The race was about getting fresh faces in Washington, Republican or Democrat, shaking up the establishment and getting rid of the "culture" of corruption and greed that has been ruling the day for far too long.

Americans did that.  Anyone in politics who doesn't get the message is in for a rude awakening.  We, the people, are just beginning.  2012 is just around the  corner.  The sleeping giant is awake.

That's MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.

HOW DO I VOTE?

Well, we’re here at the precipice. Shall we shuck or duck? Do we jump into the fray or do we seek the easy way out? Are we ready to quit our bellyaching and to get off the couch and do something about it? Do we vote or do we not?

I’m going to make a wild assumption: you are reading this because you want to see what I have to say just before the election. Maybe you are looking for one final bit of my endless wisdom that will sway your vote or help you reach the big decision. Perhaps, you imagine, there is a secret formula that will save the nation?

Before I answer your question, let me lay out my position. First of all, I am an American. Yes, I am a Conservative and yes I am a Republican. I’m not a radical Conservative and am not a die-hard Republican. Tests say that I have libertarian tendencies. I am not voting a straight Republican ticket in 2010. When it comes to making decisions, I look at what is best for the country first and what my political associations are second. I am a member of the Tea Party.

That all given so you know where I am coming from, I say that if you are undecided at this point, you really need to get more involved in what is going on in our government. I don’t mean to belittle you; you are but one of tens of millions of Americans who thought that our government would do right by us if we left them alone. I won’t go into detail here about why that didn’t work, but I will emphasize that we need to make a conscious effort to understand what is going on in our government…federal, state and local.

  1. If there is an incumbent running against an incumbent, such as a representative or governor against a senator, vote Republican.
  2. If there is a political newcomer running against an incumbent or longtime politician, vote for the newcomer.
  3. If two newcomers are running against each other, vote Republican.
  4. If there are three or more in the race, vote Republican.
  5. As a rule, remember that the guy with the dirtiest campaign who spends all of his or her energy knocking the opponent instead of coming to the table with new and fresh ideas… is just more of the same that we need to purge from our system.

That’s it. There will be some disappointments and some unexpected victories, but that is what our political process is all about. And, we must remind ourselves that even if we have a perfect election and win all of the battles we want to win. There is still 2/3 of the Senate left in office until 2012 and we will need to purge them as well. Also, we must be demanding and make the new guys in 2010 do their jobs the way the jobs are supposed to be done and to respond to the will of the country; if they fail, we must eliminate them in 2012.

Above all, we must vote.

That’s MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.

HOW TO VOTE ON NOVEMBER 2ND

We’re just a little over a week from election time. Many people in many states have already voted. Most of the military stationed overseas will not be able to vote, but many illegal aliens will. One wonders what mischief ACORN has been up to. Yes, they were disbanded into dozens of smaller organizations with different names, but they are all still “loosely connected” through their “association.”

I could spend a day talking about the first paragraph. The point is, about 5% of legitimate American voters are still undecided about what to do. Clinton and Obama are running around the country trying to smooth over the multitudes of sins committed by Reid, Pelosi and Obama and those who blindly followed their commands. What they are really trying to accomplish is to motivate the Democratic base that swept Obama into power in 2008 to come out and vote again.

From my observation, all but about 20% of that base is too embarrassed about what has happened over the past two years to come out and vote again. But, if they get bullied into doing it, chances are they will not vote a straight Democratic ticket. In fact, I would suspect that more Republicans will get elected if Bill and Barry are successful in their campaign tours.

And, just how will I feel about that? I mean, I’ve been saying all along that we need to vote out the incumbents, regardless of political party, who have become part of the Washington “culture” of elitist dominance over American citizens. We did a great job in the primaries as far as voting incumbents out. But, what about now?

I am a registered Republican; I have been all of my life. Nevertheless, I will say that I am not voting a straight Republican ticket. I do think that the main task we must now accomplish is to neuter Obama’s political agenda. He’s planning to go ahead with it regardless of how the election turns out and my fear is that a continued dominance in the House and Senate will provide him with still enough political clout to do that.

So, my recommendation on national offices, the House and Senate, is to vote Republican. As far as other offices are concerned on the state and local levels, I think you should look solely at the qualifications of the candidates and their voting records; hopefully you will not find any with a history of voting, “present,” such as Barack Obama consistently did in the Illinois legislature.

WILLIAMS TAKES A DUMPING

SPECIAL POST

NPR's senior news analyst Juan Williams has been fired.  Williams, who regularly appears on Fox news, was summarily canned for making remarks on the O'Reilly show "THE FACTOR," to the effect that he gets nervous when he's getting on an airplane and sees several men in full Moslem regalia getting on the same plane. William's NPR boss wouldn't hear any excuses, saying that his attitude "crossed the line" and, after ten years with NPR, he wasn't even given the opportunity for a face-to-face discussion on the issue; they canned him by phone.

Now, I don't particularly agree with a lot of what Williams says.   But, he does discuss and can be persuaded on some issues.  Most of his commentary is to the left, but he has many valid arguments for his positions.

All of that aside, he has the right to his views and, in this case, I agree with him.  NPR is known to be very far left in its programming and opinion and on the tax-payer's dole at that.  People who are left cannot discuss anything on a rational basis.  They either yell and scream or walk away in a huff, which is why they refused to discuss the issue and fired Williams on the phone so they would not have to deal with the unpleasant and unwelcome face-to-face discussion.

Furthermore, Williams wasn't even on NPR when he made the comments; he was on Fox.  This is akin to an abridge of Williams' right to free speech.

It's an afront to me that part of my taxpayer money goes to fund a leftist radio network in the first place; that's socialistic government propaganda at work.  As far as I am concerned, this is just one more reason why NPR should go off the air.

THE REAL DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THEM AND US

The Thursday night showdown between U.S. Senator and Majority Leader Harry Reid and upstart Sharron Angle drew a sharp contrast between political philosophies that needs to be brought to the attention of all Americans.

Reid’s underlying principle is that government has the responsibility to create jobs and to take care of the citizens and, therefore, that government has the inherent right to call all of the shots. Angle’s position is essentially that government should only create the policies that allow the economy to flourish and jobs to be created and that the people are the ones who have the inherent right to call the shots. The fundamental difference is that Reid believes all political power emanates from the government and Angle believes that all political power emanates from the people.

The U.S. Constitution spells out in no uncertain terms that America’s political power emanates from the people. I would therefore argue that Reid and other elected officials who think like him do not believe in the Constitution and that they have therefore violated their oaths of office, to protect and defend the Constitution. In the beginning, when God created the heavens and the Earth, I do not recall any Biblical addendums to say “and the governments shall rule happily ever after.”

The fact is that the framers contemplated with great care and debate exactly what form and format our government should take. Once established, our government took its course and it has operated successfully for 234 years since. It has seen us through the Civil War, two world wars, the Great Depression… you know all of the history. In concept, anyone who violates the Constitution is guilty of a crime against the country. Yet, Reid, Pelosi, Obama and their associates have the utter audacity to ignore the Constitution, to subvert the will of the people, and to assert that the document is outdated and therefore of no consequence.

To hear that the government contemplates telling restaurants what foods they can and cannot serve, citizens what doctors they can and cannot see, states what laws they can and cannot pass or enforce… runs against the grain of every principle contained in our Constitution. Yet we, the ones with the real political power in this country, have abdicated our power by remaining silent instead of undertaking what should have been vehement opposition to what those in power have been espousing.

My fellow Americans, time is short. Barely over two weeks remain before the elections. You agree with what I am now saying and have been saying for months and months, or you would not be reading this. You are not the ones who need to be convinced, but your friends, relatives and neighbors are. We must unite now and gain as many numbers as we possibly can so that we can ensure our rights to be the governing political body of our great country and so we can silence those in Washington who seek to steal our rights away from us.

For the sake of those who came before us and those who will follow us, we must stand tall, shoulder to shoulder, and we must accomplish the task with which we are now faced.

A COMING DAY OF HELL?

SPECIAL POST

Here it is, Wednesday, November 3rd.  You awaken, turn on the news and learn that Harry Reid has been re-elected.  Nancy Pelosi has been re-elected.  The list goes on.  The liberal democrats have pulled off a true "November Surprise."

Obama is jubulant.  He is talking incessantly about his plans to get Cap & Trade passed and expansion of the new Health Care plan into a full government-run operation.  Pelosi, Reid and Obama are laughing at the Tea Parties and chiding Sarah Palin, Fox and radio talk-show.

Please, let's not allow that to happen.  Be sure to show up at the polls and vote and take your neighbors and relatives with you.  We do not need one more day, let alone two more years, of the horrible assaults on America like we have seem over the last two years.

That's MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.

GLENN BECK BECOMES RELIGIOUS FREAK?

SPECIAL POST

I've heard it said several times in the last week or so, and in a tone of disdain,  that Glenn Beck has gone around the bend with religion and is getting too close with God.

I can't help but wonder if the real problem is that those people are growing further away from God and therein lies their discomfort with the subject.

Somehow, with this constant barrage of anti-religious activity in the country and with the busy lives we have been leading, our parents did get further away from God and that trend has been growing with us and our children.

I sincerely doubt that God has taken a hiatus from the subject as well.  But the ethics and morality taught in the Bible are the same ethics that are lacking in our government today.  I think we all owe it to ourselves and to our country to re-examine our relationships with God and to consider making a change.

For one thing, I think it is totally out of line to criticize someone else for their relationship with God.  People who do that would, it seems to me, be among the first to deny God and to turn tail and run if the chips were down.

That's MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.

MAY GOD HAVE MERCY ON THEIR SOULS

Here we are, barely three weeks before the November voter’s vengeance, plagued by Mexican drug violence, border immigration problems, unemployment, an economy that still sucks, a tin-horned dictator in Iran and a two-bit rabble-rouser in North Korea, a Mosque that no one wants in New York City, terrorist trials that are in big trouble in civilian courts, a war that won’t go away in Afghanistan… is there no end to this list? We have a President who wants to put his Marxist stamp on American democracy and we have a flock of mindless Congressional drones cruising around the country asking for re-election as if they deserve it for following him like sheep to the slaughter.

Now is the time that we, the people, must put an end to this Great American Debacle.

We demand the right to speak what we think without fear of retribution. We require a good education for our children, free of political imprint. We reserve the right to bear arms and to protect ourselves against tyranny. We expect the ability to own our own land and homes without government taking them from us for the purpose of selfish political or personal gain. We insist upon a judicial system that supports, rather than subordinates, our Constitution and that is free from corruption. We firmly assert that our government is a government of the people, by the people and for the people and we shall not allow it to perish from the Earth.

This is our country, created and preserved upon the blood of our fathers and their fathers. We stand on the principles of freedom, liberty and justice equally and for all. We will not hesitate to look the enemies of our country in the eye and to purge ourselves of their adverse influences upon the futures of our children or our nation.

We shall, on November 2nd of this momentous year, return our great nation to the dignity that it has earned on the pathway to greatness among all nations. We shall not falter in our mission; rather, we shall persevere every moment of every hour of every day until the bells of our republican democracy once again ring across the land.

May God have mercy on the souls of anyone who stands in our ways.

REMEMBER THE MINDLESS IDIOTS WHO DIDN'T READ THE BILL

SPECIAL POST

Candidates all across the country are doing everything possible to distance themselves from President Obama.  Don’t be fooled; don’t forget.

It was Obama who demanded… demanded, mind you… that our Congress pass the Health Care Bill.  He did not give one iota about what we thought; in fact, he and his kiss-ups, Pelosi and Reid, belittled us and called us names.  HEY!  Astroturf!  Remember those episodes where they called us mindless Fox drones?

The guys running for reelection are the real mindless idiots who blindly obeyed Obama's demands and passed thousands of pages of legislation that we were against and that they did not read.  When we step into the voting booth on November 2nd, we need to remember who the real mindless idiots are.

That’s MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.

SHORT SHOTS

Another one of my famous, albeit infrequent collections of snippets and wisdom regarding news and current events is before you. Let’s get right to it:

A recent poll shows 77% of Americans dislike Congress and 17% like Congress. One can only assume that the other 6% are aliens from outer space.

Democrats are running around like crazy and asserting that they don’t want to see our taxes go up. You noticed how they all stood up and demanded a vote to extend the Bush tax cuts before they headed for the hills?

Speaking of heading for the hills, it’s also interesting to see how many of those guys who did not read the Health Care Plan but voted for it anyway are now fidgeting in their chairs when the subject comes up. Judging by the looks on their faces, you’d certainly think someone had just passed some bad gas.

And, speaking of aliens from outer space, California’s Jerry Brown is zeroing in on Meg Whitman for the governor’s spot. Those who were around forty or so years ago will fondly remember good old “Moonbeam” Brown. I wonder how his main squeeze of the time, Linda Ronstadt, is doing these days. Isn’t life sooooo wonderful?

Don’t you wonder how a President has the guts to take on a cable news network which has more viewers than all of the other news networks combined? Watch out! A guy with this much audacity might even be inclined to shove a Health Care Plan through Congress when 72% of Americans are against it.

The stock market is up. Sometimes I wonder if Geithner and Company is investing some of that unused/unreturned TARP money to keep the market up going in to the election, but then I remember that he’s a close and personal friend of Rahmbo and I know that he’d never consider doing anything like that.  No, really, I'm not being sarcastic.  Not a chance.

What I DO know is that there are one helluva lot of Americans out of work these days for one helluva long time, and our President is obsessed with getting an interview with THE ROLLING STONE mag. I wonder what Stanley McChrystal has to say about that? But, now that the recession is over, I guess all of those people will be going back to work Monday anyway.

And, as long as we’re speaking of things, we’re sorry to see Rahmbo exit to stage left. Chicago’s loss is our gain. It will be awhile before we know if Rouse is a grouse or a louse or a mouse in that big old White House.

So, Obama invites some family of a deceased World War 1 hero over for a presentation and White House hoopla, and one of his aids throws out one of the family, a 10-year-old boy, because he was wearing a pair of shorts and a t-shirt with a picture of the hero on it. Hooray for the White House for underscoring Obama’s priorities in life; whatever it takes, show them who’s the biggest snob in all of the land. Thank God the kid didn’t ask for a job.  But, I do hear that Obama is inviting the young man to return; maybe they'll have a beer with Joe out on the White House lawn.

Barney Frank has evidently been upset because his name hasn’t been in the news much, so he lashed out and blamed the Tea Parties for trying to destroy him. That’s one of the favorite tricks of that team of Frankfarter, Pelosi, Reid, Obama, Rangel, Dodd and Waters: When the country knows what a despicable cad you really are, blame Bush or blame the Tea Parties. “Look, the right wing has been attacking me for a long time, and I think they're particularly upset because last summer, when everybody was dealing with these town meetings, I fought back. ... I think Tea Parties say I'm their worst one. I think they'd like to make an example of me, that if you fight back, you get punished. So I'm working hard.” Damned Tea Parties, anyway.

Pelosi says there’s no way that the Democrats can lose the House of Representatives. Harry Reid decided to change the subject of the November elections by calling for a vote on the military’s “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy and…. promptly lost the vote. Oh, I'm just wild about Harry.

Well there, Reverend Wright, I think you’re right. And, we all thought you were left. Anyway, all of the chickens ARE finally coming home to roost.

That’s MY AMERICAN OPINION, without sarcasm or fanfare, respectfully submitted.

ON THE LINE IN NOVEMBER: INDIVIDUAL FREEDOMS AND LIBERTIES

SPECIAL POST

Our individual rights, freedoms and liberties have never been under attack to the extent that the Obama Administration and its cohorts have been engaged in over the past two years. When you look back at what has happened, you cannot help but understand that the “regime” has been quietly setting itself up to be the oppressor against us, the oppressed.

In New York City, there was a community Orthodox Church badly damaged by 9/11 that has been trying desperately to get permission to rebuild ever since. On the other hand, you have a Muslim “Center” that has apparent radical connections and you have a Federal and City government bound and determined to let them build next to Ground Zero against the will of the people.

In two major Supreme Court decisions, it was affirmed that Americans have the right to own and bear arms; yet, the two cities most directly affected by those rulings, Washington D.C. and Chicago; both immediately enacted new laws to circumvent the rulings. In cities, counties and states around the country, new laws are being promulgated by the multitudes. Some are outlandish and ridiculous. Take for example, the proposed California law that would require that all guns stamp shell casings with an identification number when the gun is fired; will that stop gun crime by illegal gun owners? Never mind that the technology is not available except by one manufacturer; that fact would simply be another deterrent to gun ownership.

It is no secret that Obama has a vendetta against Fox News. The Administration has openly threatened Beck and his advertisers and it has derided O’Reilly and Hannity to no end; even Van Susteren has felt the heat. They have constantly been pushing the ideas of “Fair and Balanced” broadcasting that would require broadcasting companies to give equal time to opposing views. In this manner, if they put up a talk show host to counter Rush Limbaugh and no one will listen to the opposing view, Limbaugh has to come off the air. This whole scenario really tinkers with my right to listen to who I want to listen to and about what.

The new Health Care Plan is such an assault upon our individual liberties that, had it been put forth in the early days of this country, its authors would have been charged with sedition.

If we reelect those in Congress who support the Administration in these tactics, we are only providing them with the power and courage to continue. They must be stopped and it is up to us to do it.

That’s MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.

THE DRUMBEAT OF AMERICA

Once upon a time around 236 years ago, our forefathers were saddled with the job of devising a form of government that would provide for balance of power in the legislative, judicial and executive needs of the country while retaining the real and supreme authority for the people and for the states.  From their endeavors, the strongest and most reliable and long-lasting governmental constitution ever devised by man in any country at any time emerged and became the law of our country 234 years ago.

Our Constitution has served us well in this country, far outlasting those of other countries in times of national and world peril, through good times and bad.  Here we are in 2010 with an economy that is in very fragile shape, with national security that is strained to keep us safe, with declining morals and ethical values, with high unemployment, with the old pangs of racism freely flowing and with a government that has gone far astray from the core principles and guidelines set forth in our great document.

We are all very worried in this country about what tomorrow will bring.  If I have heard it once, I’ve heard it thousands of times in the past months:  “I don’t know what or who to believe or what to do.”

The answer, my friends, lies within the great Constitution that our forefathers belabored over for weeks and months trying, as best they might, to devise a document that would stand the tests of time; their strongest challenge was to retain a balance of power between the branches of government while retaining the real power and authority for the people themselves.  What we have is a situation where the Executive Branch of our government is exerting far too much control over the Legislative Branch and we have a Legislative Branch that has turned its backs on the will of the people.

That’s the whole problem in a nutshell.  Now what?

Since the real authority and power of our government lies with the people, it is time for us to exercise our responsibilities and to right the wrongs that are being perpetrated upon us.  We must at once command our Legislative Branch, the Congress, to listen to and obey the will of the people.  Those who have failed to do so must be sanctioned and removed.  It’s just that simple.

We have set ourselves upon the course of restoring the power and authority of our government to the people in accordance with the provisions of our Constitution.  The members of Congress who face reelection in November are scurrying around like nervous Nellies, spinning their misdeeds and trying to convince us that they have acted only upon our concerns and directions.  Yet, we all know that they have not.  If you sit down at the kitchen table and make two lists, one of all the things they have done which are good and we wanted them to do, and another list of the things we were against and did not want them to do, it will quickly remind you of the despicable disregard they have had for what we think and want.  There should be no doubt that they must all be removed, regardless of how much they whine and tremble in fear.

We must prepare ourselves and steel our nerves against the onslaughts of protests that will raise their voices louder and louder in the remaining days before the November elections.  We must be firm in our convictions that the power and authority of our government must be restored to the people.  And, in the dust that will arise on November 2nd, we must rise further to the occasion and begin to prepare ourselves to finish the job in 2012 by removing those who were not up for reelection in 2010 and by resolving the issue that remains in the other branch of our government, the Executive branch.

This is not the time to draw a deep breath.  This is not the time to allow the incessant voices of those who have violated our trust to wear down our resolve. This is the time to stand firmly together, side by side, shoulder to shoulder, and to finish the job we know fully well we simply must do.

That’s MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.
