JOBS: OBAMA TURNS HIS BACK

The Omnipotent One disbanded the illustrious Presidential Jobs Council yesterday without fanfare or comment.  The Council had met only four times since its inception two years ago and has not met in more than a year.  This action comes on the heels of increasing numbers of people filing for first-time unemployment claims and the news that our economy is shrinking for the first time since 2009 at the beginning of a national financial debacle. 

When news broke yesterday about the economic reversal, the White House was quick to blame the Republicans.  Pelosi and others argued that the Republicans should have been more resistant to the currently looming defense cuts enacted last year; she failed to modify previous remarks to the effect that the Republicans have been obstructionists by getting in the way of Obama’s agenda. 

What goes unsaid in all of this is that The Omnipotent One obviously has been fluffing us off regarding the jobs issue from the beginning; he doesn’t care who is unemployed, how long they’ve been unemployed or how many there are.  Evidently, his true obsession is getting his agenda firmly in place and he doesn’t want a silly thing like unemployment or a newly shrinking economy to get in his way. 

Well….. Lah dee dah!
