Here we are at the annual time we set aside to honor and pay tribute to those who paid the ultimate sacrifice on behalf of our country. It is ironic that our White House is occupied by a President who has breached the trust of the republic, who spits upon our Constitution and disobeys our laws, who ignores time-honored and traditional mechanics of our government, and whose arrogant disregard for our citizens reeks of oppression.
Retrenching, he seeks to sweep the results of his tarnished aristocracy under the rug by using "Executive Privilege" to halt an investigation into Fast & Furious, naming an Attorney General to investigate himself, "firing" an I.R.S. Commissioner who was leaving anyway, and stonewalling a Congressional investigation into the Benghazi Massacre. "Move on," he implores, as if he expects prompt and complete obedience to his commands.
I wonder what those who are buried in our National Cemeteries would think of his conduct. I wonder which one of those departed souls would allow this President to be buried next to him.
I worry about where this nation will be at this time next year.
