BENHGHAZI: NO SMOKING GUN...YET

SPECIAL POST

Greg Hicks, a key witness at the Congressional hearings into the Benghazi Massacre, testified that the mischaracterization of the event as being protestors of the infamous anti-Muslim video angered the president of Libya and thereby slowed down FBI access to the site.  The Libyan president had already gone public to explain that it was a premeditated terrorist attack and the Administration's stance undercut his credibility.

The three witnesses were critical of the lack of security prior to the attack and suggested that the military could very well have done more to try and help the Consulate during the siege.  A group of military personnel was boarding a plane to fly to Benghazi and were told to "stand down" and not deploy; testimony was made that the personnel could have reached Benghazi before the attack ended.

Hicks, who had a reputation for excellence prior to the Benghazi Massacre, said he was vocally insistent about getting help, but was rebuffed and later demoted to a desk job.

There were no breathtaking moments of testimony, no astounding revelations. Predictably, Democrats on the committee claimed the hearings were politically motivated and amounted to nothing.

And the efforts to pry the facts and the truth out of the stonewall continue.

That's MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.
