SPECIAL POST
I was recently reading through some quotations about citizenship. I was struck by a thread in the quotes from foreigners who moved here and who went through the citizenship process. By and large, everyone of them shed tears of joy on the day they were sworn in as U.S. citizens; at long last, they had completed their necessary steps of qualification and had become Americans.
It has historically been a privilege to be an American; citizenship here was held in high esteem everywhere. Yet, today we have a president and members of the two major political parties who are poised to bestow citizenship on millions of people who got here illegally.
No wonder there are tears streaking down the cheeks of Lady Liberty; she's been totally trashed.
That's MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.
