Today is the long-awaited day when Congress will delve further into the circumstances surrounding the Benghazi Massacre before, during and after that horrible event took place. Yes, there were prior hearings, but they amounted to mere "window dressing." Explosive charges from whistle blowers have elevated this particular hearing to the level of serious charges.
Testimony from top officials involved at the time is expected to directly contradict every facet of Secretary of State Clinton's prior testimony on the subject and to disprove the fabricated story that no one knows who changed the "talking points" used by Ambassador Susan Rice as she toured national talk shows after the massacre. One individual will testify that military assets were, in fact, capable of reaching Benghazi before that event was over and that some special forces were actually loading onto a plane to fly to Benghazi when they were inexplicably told to "stand down."
The testimony is also set to include allegations that the whistle blowers were threatened by Obama officials to keep their mouths shut. Several other witnesses have indicated they may come forward after they see the testimony of the initial whistle blowers and ascertain for themselves that no retaliation will be forthcoming.
It remains to be seen whether or not the Administration will take steps to stop the testimony or to further thwart the investigation, as they have done in "Fast and Furious." Let's hope they won't dare to try.
