WAL-MART GOES TO WAR

SPECIAL POST

Faced with union protests over a planned Thanksgiving Day store opening, Wal-Mart has filed suit against the unions in Federal Court, claiming the unions have unlawfully disrupted business due to protests over the last six months.  In the meanwhile, workers complain of low wages, inadequate benefits and poor working conditions.

I have two responses: (1) Wal-Mart should stay closed on Thanksgiving Day.  It will not make any difference in gross sales for the season and it's a traditional family holiday.  The stores should be closed.  (2) Every employee who has gone to work for Wal-Mart knows ahead of time what the pay scale is, what the benefits are and what working conditions exist; if they don't like it, they should not be working there. If Wal-Mart raises pay and benefits, it must raise prices, and then who needs to shop at Wal-Mart?

That's MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.

Wal-Mart workers protesting their employer complain of low wages, poor working conditions and inadequate health benefits, among other grievances.
