Turkey Day has just
departed and it’s time for another brilliant issue of “Short Shots.” You know how the “i” is right next to the “o”
on the keyboard; I just caught a critical error on the Post headline…
Jesse Jackson Jr. has
resigned. I wonder if they will now
release Rod Blagojevich from prison. I
simply can’t imagine that they would be investigating the son of Jesse Jackson,
of all people, for campaign fraud and other dirty deeds, can you?
Over the weekend, we had
Director of National Intelligence Clapper doing a 180 and saying that he was
the one who made the changes to the CIA talking points which U.S. Ambassador
Rice purportedly relied upon when she insisted that the Benghazi Massacre was
the result of protestors over the You Tube video. We were then treated with Rice coming forth
and again insisting that she relied on those talking points. Petraeus, of course, has said that his
version of the talking points clearly pointed to Al Qaeda, but Clapper says
that both Petraeus and FBI Director Robert Mueller signed off on his
changes. I’ve been saying that the
Benghazi situation was going to be maneuvered into oblivion by the Obama
Administration and it’s starting to look as if it’ll be a dead issue before
Obama nominates Rice as his new Secretary of State during the Congressional
Christmas recess, thereby doing an end-run around otherwise required
Congressional approval. Isn’t that just swell?
In the meanwhile, this is
the first time in my infinite memory when some group, any group, got away with killing U.S. citizens in an Embassy or Consulate,
let alone a U.S. Ambassador. The proof
of this conclusion is that U.S. Naval ships stationed in the region were on
their way home until the fighting started between Hamas and Israel. Just how far has this nation fallen, that we
accept this?
Residents of the Gaza
Strip were so happy to hear that the military confrontation was over between
Hamas and Israel; they were so sick and tired of the mortar explosions and gunfire
that they celebrated the cease fire by going out into the streets and firing
their guns into the air. They must be
Democrats.
In the meanwhile, the
Press and the Media are paying more attention to the demise of Hostess Baking
and the Twinkie than they are Benghazi or the Gaza Strip. Personally, I think we would be better off
without those guys, spreading their misinformation and lies. No news is better than manufactured
news.
What a great holiday
weekend, what with airlines cutting back on flights and service, rental car
companies being out of cars, and strikes at LAX. I just have to wonder when all of this strife
in life is going to go away. Nobody’s
smiling in this country anymore; even the comedians are having a hard time
making people laugh… just ask David Letterman.
Saw a great sign in the
grocery store the other day… “Porterhouse Steaks, $3.98 per pound; With Meat,
$6.00 extra.”
Have you noticed how all
of the sizes of things, the net weights that is, are going down? The size of the container stays the same, as
does the price. Every company is playing
this outright sham. Northern Tissues
sliced the width of its toilet paper many months ago and had the gall to raise
the price anyway; I’m surprised they don’t make us use both sides before we
flush, but the EPA is working on that possibility.
Speaking of the EPA, did
you know that the Director is using two names?
Yep, she’s known as Lisa Jackson and Richard Windsor. I don’t know the answer… maybe she IS a transsexual. But, that wouldn’t have any bearing on the
issue unless she married herself…. Her office justifies this by saying she
doesn’t want the public to know who she really is. Given her/his track record, neither would I.
There’s absolutely no
truth to the rumor that Fox’s Bill O’Reilly has accepted a job as the spokesperson
for Planned Parenthood… or PBS for that matter.
Don’t you get excited
when you think about the government that runs AM-TRAK and the Post Office now
scheduling your medical appointments?
I just got a telephone
call from the Tea Party asking me to make a donation. I had to tell them that I’ve switched back to
coffee. They are almost… almost as
splintered as the Republican Party. The
Party is saying that they need to take a different direction; how about out of
town... lickety split?
Don’t worry about the
Fiscal Cliff. Obama’s got a great
strategy to fuel things up, if you’ll pardon the play on words. He’s sending $6 billion to Asia to help them
gear up their “clean energy” projects. I’m
not sure, but I hear that Solyndra has moved its headquarters to Bangkok.
There’re a whole lot of
states, (57 according to Barack Obama), that want to secede from the
Union. They’re ticked off at everything
this nation is doing to itself. I think
it’s a great idea myself, but they should
wait until I get my 2012 income tax refund; this year I’m claiming all illegal
immigrants as my dependents. A new twist
is that you can add your name to a petition for your state’s secession at the
White House website, but you have to register first; a confirmation email which
contains a temporary password is supposed to be sent to you. Ha, ha, ha, ha.
I have now received 37 “final
notice” voicemails from Credit Card Services that I must act now to reduce my
credit card interest rate. Scams have no
limits in their ingenuity, do they? But,
if they get arrested and hauled off to court, Holder may get them off; he’s
good at that.
It seems to me that the “Great
American Dream” has turned into a nightmare.
That’s MY AMERICAN
OPINION, respectfully submitted.
