VOTING RECORDS HACKED AND EXPOSED!

SPECIAL POST

So you thought your voter registration information was protected... that it was confidential... that it wasn't available for your neighbor, banker, local judge or anyone else to see?

Think again.

The political parties do have access to such information so they can market and inform their voters.  Prior to the 2016 elections, the Republican Party hired Deep Root Analytics for this chore; they, in turn, left the data base open and not password protected.  To make matters worse, that database was publicly available on an unprotected server.   At this time it's unknown how many unauthorized people accessed the data and Deep Root has hired a cybersecurity team to investigate the breach.

Further details can be obtained at: https://www.komando.com/happening-now/405040/200-million-voter-records-exposed-online?utm_medium=nl&utm_source=notd&utm_content=2017-06-21-article-f

I don't know about the legality of the political parties assigning our confidential voter data to outside third parties.  But, I do know that I'd be highly upset to find out I lost a job opportunity, a good interest rate on a car loan or a court case because someone involved didn't like my voter registration.

Thanks to the Republican Party for not exercising due diligence.   Now, even thieves have access to your name, address and date of birth... and with that, they're well on their way to stealing your identity.

That's MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.
