Whenever this country has faced difficult
and challenging times in its history, it has always managed to pull itself together
and to stand together in the face of such adversity. It is our love of country and the principles
upon which it was built that has drawn us together from our various stations in
life to win the day and to ensure that our great democracy continues to
survive. That has always been the
history of America.
In these times, our nation is faced with
so many problems, ranging from our economy to potential world war. Yet, the single and most important issue we
face today is the continuing attempt by our President to divide us, to pit us
against each other and to foster unrest and hatred among the populace. It is a simple, tried and true strategy:
divide and conquer.
I have no hatred for Blacks or Hispanics
or Jews or Muslims or any other segment of our society; yet, Obama fans the
flames of racism, divides rich from poor and sets up open campaigns to
marginalize those who do not subscribe to his political ideology. If we allow this divisiveness to continue,
the ultimate end will be the trashing of our Constitution and the end of
capitalism and democracy as we know and love them.
This is the single most important
challenge we must take on today in America; we must refuse to allow
divisiveness to continue. We must set
aside the differences that our enemy seeks to exploit and we must join
together, hand-in-hand, elbow-to-elbow and arm-to-arm, and we must seek to
reunite ourselves as a nation built upon morals, ethics and sound values.
If we can accomplish this goal, then I
submit to you that we can work together to resolve our economic issues and to
get people back to work. We can reassert
our position as a leader of nations and we can bring back peace and stability in
the world. We can expunge from the halls
of Congress those who refuse to listen to our yearnings for responsible
government and who seek to erase the words, “of the people, by the people and
for the people” from the fundamental vocabulary of our government.
The time is now. Let us turn a deaf ear to the discordant
rhetoric coming from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and reach out to each other. Let us stand united as Americans from all
walks of life and take back our country.
That’s MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully
submitted.
