TRUMP REMINDS US OF A LESSON

When I was a lad, my parents taught me to always stand up for what is right.  I've always done that throughout my life, even losing a job over that principle.

The fact that we Americans have lost that mentality is why we are in the situation we are in, where our government is seizing the power of the people and converting that power to its own sinister purposes.  We should have been marching in the streets of Washington years ago, demanding that power be restored to the people and to the states, where it constitutionally belongs... but we didn't.

Look at where that got us.  We have a Congress which will not stand up to the president or to the Supreme Court and we have a country full of people who won't stand up to Congress or the president.  We have a government that tells us what we can and cannot say, how to practice our religions and when to sit down and shut up; and, like zombies, we do what we're told.

FOX NEWS was dead wrong.  Understanding that Megyn Kelly utterly despises Donald Trump and that she has used her Fox stardom as a platform from which to insert her personal views into the national political discussion, they should have never selected her to be on the stage during this last debate in the first place.

They could have used her as a moderator on the early debate and that would have prevented the showdown, but they didn't.  To me, it amounts to a deliberate attempt on the part of FOX NEWS to "put Donald Trump in his place."  When he complained about it, they compounded their arrogance by issuing a childish statement about Putin, the Iranians and Trump.  When he stood up for what was right and went ahead and withdrew from the debate,  Fox put the icing on the cake by trying to reach the women in his life and get them to coerce Trump into appearing.

Still trying to berate and beat Trump into submission, Fox launched an all-out effort to discredit him.  Trump must have read my blogs; he took my advice and staged an event to occur directly opposite the Fox debates; three major networks and two other GOP candidates showed up to his packed venue.

I'm going to go out on a limb and make two predictions: (1) This arrogant culture that has settled into the FOX NEWS boardroom and newsrooms is the beginning of their downfall... indeed, their ratings started to plummet during Thursday night's debates; (2) Americans are sick and tired of the lack of responsiveness in Washington and in the press, and they ARE starting to stand up and demand their own change and anybody who stands in their way is going to get mowed down.

Thanks for the reminder, Donald.  From now on, we're going to join you and STAND UP FOR WHAT IS RIGHT, for ourselves and for the good of America.

That's MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.
