ENERGY: OBAMA SCREWS AMERICA AGAIN

SPECIAL POST

Drilling for oil in the Gulf of Mexico has been forbidden by the Obama administration over the last eight years.  During this period, Cuba and Brazil have vastly expanded drilling in the Gulf, including areas formerly open to U.S. companies.  Obama's decision was predicated upon environmental concerns.   This closure has contributed to a brewing energy crisis in the United States.

Now, in virtually his last days in office,, Obama is about to exercise another Executive Order barring any future drilling off the Atlantic Coast, in the Gulf of Alaska and the Arctic.  This ban would open those areas to drilling by Russia without interference, while at the same time limiting future U.S. oil production and placing us at greater risk of dependence on Middle Eastern oil supplies.  Environmental groups are hoping the ban, despite relying on executive powers, will be difficult for a future president to reverse.

I am certainly in favor of protecting our environment.  But, I'll be damned if I'm going to tolerate freezing my fanny off or walking 20 miles to work because we're without energy, while the rest of the world gloms onto oil which justifiably belongs to us.

That's MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.
