MEIN KAMPF AMERICAN STYLE

All of the essential plans for an installation of a modern-date Hitler government are now in place; we have developed the ability to engineer the human being. 

Scientists have reached the point where that can take genes from three parents and create a new child.  This will enable them to get rid of genetic weaknesses in a family line, choose the color of hair of  child and even to determine the sex of the child in advance of insemination.  This means it is now possible to weed out the Jews and to create a super race of humans.   

Why can't you engineer the birth of people with the level of intelligence and physical makeup who are most likely to vote Democratic, or for a particular candidate who has particular traits?  We can't you legislate what genetic and intellectual traits an individual must have in order to run for political office?  Why can't you determine at birth whether or not an individual will live according to his or her potential for the need for costly medical care during their lifetime?  

You also have an Attorney General who subscribes to the theory that you don't have to follow the law if you don't believe in it.  Screw it; I'm not paying any more taxes.

TRADEOFF: MILITARY FOR OBAMACARE

It dawns on me why our idiot Premier and his cohorts want to gut the military; the resulting decrease in expenditures will be used to shore up a failing ObamaCare.  

We all know that the signups for ObamaCare are disastrously low; there is no way ObamaCare can survive without a massive cash transfusion.   The mood of the public and the Congress is totally against any more spending on this piece of ca-ca known as the American Care Act.  But, Obama knows that backing off the legislation he crammed down our throats would be the end of his dream of fundamentally transforming America; it's the key piece to fulfilling that objective. 

He also knows that slashing the benefits and raising premiums is going to raise more national outrage.  The only... the only answer to his quandary is to snatch the needed funding from some other program, so he's picking on the military. 

That's the only logical conclusion to all of this.  The question arises: Do YOU think we should trade our military and the security it provides for ObamaCare?

SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP

Here we are, bellyaching about what is going on in the Ukraine; here we are with out backs up, threatening Iran, Syria and North Korea to stay in line.  Well, just what are we going to do about it, and with what? 

We've already announced that we're decreasing the size of out military to the smallest size it has been since before World War II.  Never mind that our armies, our air forces, our marines, our navies have kept us secure in our homeland through countless threats to our national security; our illustrious leaders in the White House and the Congress have decided that we're going to try something new. 

Well, if Putin sends forces into Ukraine tomorrow, we're going to do the only thing we can; sit down and shut up.  We're going to watch it happen, and we'll watch as Georgia, Poland, Hungary, Czechoslovakia... as they all fall in the rebuilding of the Soviet Union.  What else can we do?  We'll watch when Iran nukes Israel and as the Middle East erupts in fires of Biblical proportions. 

The very fabric of our own society is broken.  We have a President who openly flaunts the law and a Congress that is beyond dysfunctional; yet, all we seem to be able to do is bellyache... even the press and media don't care to rise to the occasion.  If we, as disgruntled Americans, don't have the love of our country, the affection of freedom and justice, the yearning for democracy that we are willing to get off our butts and do something about it, then why should we bother to waste our breaths bellyaching?  

If that truly is the case with us, then we need to blindly follow our leaders; sit down and shut up.

U.S. ~ MEXICAN DRUG FEUD

Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, the hardened and famous Mexican drug lord, was captured over the weekend through a joint operation involving both Mexican and United States drug agencies.  FOX NEWS is reporting that "Shorty" was captured in a building just off a beach in Mazatlan on Saturday.  He was previously in a Mexican carcel on drug charges and escaped in 2001. 

The U.S. filed for extradition almost before Guzman was back in a cell.  The Mexicans, quite correctly, allege that he is a Mexican citizen arrested on Mexican soil and they will be the ones to put him on trial. 

So, we have a "rift" in U.S. - Mexican relations.  (If I'm not mistaken, I think that means we now have a "rift" with every country in the world.) 

What needs to happen next is for Obama to call up El Presidente Enrico Pena Nieto and invite him up to Washington for a beer in the White House Rose garden with Barack and Joe.  The only problem I can foresee in that scenario is that Obama would undoubtedly want to impress Nieto with an authentic Mexican beer for the occasion, and he'd probably pick Guinness Stout.

FINALLY, THE ANSWER

When you're down with the bug, you have two choices: (1) give in and take bed rest, and (2) give in and contemplate.  I chose the latter. 

There are so many of us down-to-earth Americans who know where our country came from and where it should be going, why is it that we cannot prevail in Washington?  Why this continuing disconnect?  Why did Obama get reelected? 

I don't believe that those of us patriotic Americans who want our nation to stay on the steady course of freedom, justice and liberty have been swayed.  So, why is it that Congress doesn't listen to us?  Why is it that a renegade President gets away with the stuff that he does?  Why does he get reelected? 

Now, this is going to sound bigoted and I don't want it to; however, these are the facts.  My contemplation leads me to this conclusion: those migrating to the U.S. are the problem, whether they do it legally or illegally.  The reasoning is that they come from governments that are far worse than what we now have; they think Obama and his fascist socialist ways are much better than where  they came from and that is why they are here.  How can they relate to the fact that we patriotic Americans who come from decades of believers in our form off government and our history of things is superior to where we are now? 

In other words, they think everything is hunky-dory and we do not.  Through loose immigration policies and the admission of illegal aliens, we have been overcome by those who don't really appreciate the roots of our democracy.  Therein lies the impetus for the Democrats and Obama in particular to declare amnesty for illegal aliens.  As a side note, of course, therein lies the impetus to grant felons the right to vote. 

Now, I'm not advocating that we shut off immigration entirely, although that's not a bad idea.  What I am advocating is that we get a little more choosy regarding who we let in and the conditions of citizenship which they must meet.

GETTING CLOSER TO THE DEATH OF AMERICAN FREEDOM

Following yesterday's post which revealed a concerted government plan to cut down on Freedom of the Press, news came that the DHS is planning to establish a national license-plate recognition database that would collect information from commercial and law enforcement tag readers; the project is already going out to bid.   A spokeswoman for the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency told the newspaper that the database “could only be accessed in conjunction with ongoing criminal investigations or to locate wanted individuals.” 

If you believe that, you believe that Obama never said you could keep your insurance and doctor;  you believe that the NSA's collection of your telephone records will never be used against you unless you commit a crime; you believe in Mary Poppins.  “Ultimately, you’re creating a national database of location information,” says Jennifer Lynch, a staff attorney with the Electronic Frontier Foundation.   “When all that data is compiled and aggregated, you can track somebody as they’re going through their life."

Just like they did in Nazi Germany, Stalinist Russia, Italy and other fascist regimes.  

Americans, don't you think it's time to wake up and smell the ugly facts?

WAR AGAINST FREEDOM OF THE PRESS INTENSIFIES

The Obama Administration has made it abundantly clear that it will not tolerate whistle-blowers.  It has launched an investigation into how journalists decide on what they report, what sources they use, and what methods they employ to get stories in front of the American public.  Reporters Without Borders’ annual Freedom Index report ranked the United States 46th in the world regarding freedom of information, a drop of 13 spots from 2012. The report cited the trial and conviction of Private Bradley Manning, the pursuit of National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden and the Justice Department’s seizure of Associated Press phone records in an effort to find the source of a CIA leak, among other cases. 

David Cuillier, the president of the Society of Professional Journalists, told FoxNews.com on Monday he agreed with the report’s findings and believes the journalism climate in the United States continues to get worse. He said part of the problem is a public that to a large extent no longer trusts journalists and believes it's acceptable for the government to intimidate reporters, hide information and threaten journalists with jail time for doing their jobs.  

They're even planning on installing federal monitors in newsrooms.  
It's none of Obama's damned business where I get my stories, which ones I decide to use and why, or why I write they way I do.  Any journalist in this country who allows this to happen without raising holy hell deserves to have his knuckles broken.  One more step toward a Nazi America is to keep the public in the dark about what the government is doing.

ABOLISH CONGRESS

President Obama is proving beyond all reasonable doubt that we don't need Congress.  After all, he has his pen and the telephone and he can do anything he wants.  

Congress, on the other hand, has proven that it is not only corrupted by big money contributors, but also that it is fundamentally dysfunctional.  And, if Congress continues to allow Obama to do anything he wants, who needs them anyway?  Having Congress around, particularly THIS Congress, is nothing more than having windrow dressing for a pretend democracy.  What a waste!

Just the monetary benefits alone are astounding.  For one thing, the hundreds of millions of dollars spent by lobbyists each year in the halls of the Capitol could be better put to use to finance international travels of the First Lady and her children as well as golf lessons for the President.  The hundreds of millions of dollars spent on Congressional election campaigns could be used to buy out FOX NEWS, THE BLAZE, Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter; and the salaries of Congressional Members and their staffs could be channeled into hiring more Czars for the White House. 

 We could use the Capitol building for storing nuclear waste; why not... they've already exercised their "nuclear option."  And all of those empty offices could be converted into living quarters for Department of Homeland Security Stormtroopers.  

I don't know why we didn't come to this conclusion ages ago.

THIS HAS TO BE SAID

I've posted a lot of blogs since I started writing them... over 7,000; I'm at almost 1,100 on this particular site alone. Right now, the time has come for me to lay out what I feel is a most important message regarding the future of the United States of America. 

Think back with me for a moment to 2009 when rampant out-of-control spending was going on and there was a big push on in the Democratic controlled House and Senate to raise taxes.  This gave rise to the formation of the Tea Parties and they grew overnight into a powerful political force that changed the face of Congress in the 2010 elections.  Thank God for them, I'm sure we must agree, because turning the House over to Republican control greatly contributed to the slow-down of the Obama agenda.  

The Tea Parties were a collective power to be reckoned with.  But, that was the end of that. 

If I were a conspiracy buff, I would have to say that the Tea Parties were created by Obama deliberately, to take America's focus off of his real game plan.  Let's set that conjecture aside.  What this country really needs right now is an American movement by patriotic citizens who love their country, who will die for their country and who will fight for their country.  There are a lot of us out in the boondocks who thought the Tea Parties were the answer to that prayer. 

The Tea Parties, however, lost their focus.  They all tried to define themselves and to establish differences among them.  In the process of doing so, they splintered their message into oblivion.  What we have today is a discombobulated and fractured movement that has no unified message and is therefore ineffective and destined to die, Tea Party by Tea Party. 

This will do our country no good.  

The fact that the left-wing Progressive liberals have come unglued in their blatant rhetoric about the Tea Parties is indicative of  their fear of the possibility of the truth being put forth to everyday Americans.  The problem is that Tea Parties are not united in their messaging.  What needs to happen here is that the splintered parties unite under one roof and one platform and thereby become, once again, a formidable political force on the American landscape. 

The goal post here is the preservation of America; the Tea Parties have the ability, if they unite under a common platform, to provide the avenue for that to happen.  

How about the United Tea Parties of America, and let the individual chapters carry on with their individual messages?

REPUBLICAN HAND-WRINGING MUST END

Our past Presidents must be rolling in their graves to look down at what this President has done to our country and our Constitution.  They all realize that there is no way they would have gotten away with even a "smidgen" of what this President has done without being impeached and tied to a rail. 

Or Constitution was established to provide a balance of power in this country; Washington and those who followed him never wanted to be the king that Obama proclaims himself to be.  None of them would ever have uttered the words, "I can do what I want!" as this President has.  

In establishing that balance of power, provisions were installed to provide avenues to correct egregious behavior on the part of any branch.  In the case of Presidential misbehavior, the Constitution provides for the avenue of impeachment.    Nevertheless, Senator Mike Lee from Utah said over the weekend that there is nothing the Republicans can do about it. 

I guess Lee and his cohorts define American Patriotism as standing on the sidelines when the going gets tough and wringing your hands? 

Fellahs... we've had enough.  The political correctness on the part of Americans is coming to an end.  We're tired of pussy-footing around while those in Washington turn their deaf ears away from us.  Mr. Lee, it's time for you and your so-called patriotic friends either shit or get off the pot.  Either do your American job or get out of the way of those of us who demand better.  

Period.

SHOULD WE IMPEACH OBAMA?

Obama has made no secret of his intentions to do what ever he wants.  At his own will, he ignores his sworn responsibility to uphold and execute the laws of the United States.  He has arbitrarily changed the health care law, when only Congress has the authority to do so.  He has abused his powers through the use of Executive Privilege to shield Eric Holder and the Department of Justice from the Fast & Furious investigation.  He has raised Federal wages without Congressional approval.  He has stonewalled the Benghazi Massacre investigation.  He has either allowed or ordered his minions to use government agencies to target his political enemies. 

I could probably fill the entire internet with a list of his impeachable offenses.  

The reasons put forth not to:

• We'd end up with Joe Biden as President
• The Democrats in the Senate would never allow it
• Obama would veto it
• The Blacks would riot

As bad as he is, Biden would most certainly be a much better President than Obama.  The Democrats in the Senate might not vote to impeach Obama, but the Chief Judge in the Senate trial would be the Chief Justice of the United States, not Harry Reid. Obama would have no veto power in the matter. 
The Black community is just as unhappy as the rest of us.  You may get a minority of far-left liberal Blacks out in the streets, but I think that would be it.  

I'm sorry, but I cannot imagine where this country will be in three more years of this dictatorship.  It must end, and it must end now.  Not to impeach will give a license to any future President to do the same, or worse.

A VICTORY FOR CALIFORNIA GUN OWNERS

Here is a sane and most-welcomed ruling from the most surprising source in the United States, a three-judge panel of the 9th District Circuit Court of Appeals.  The issue is California's law regarding concealed weapons permits.  Each individual county issues the permits, which require good moral character and a good cause for carrying concealed.  What one county will accept, others will not.  

The Court, after hearing oral arguments, ruled 2-1 that the existing law is too restrictive: "The right to bear arms includes the right to carry an operable firearm outside the home for the lawful purpose of self-defense," Judge Diarmuid O'Scannlain wrote for the majority.  

Now then, I'm going to tick off my brother members in the NRA.  The NRA believes you should be able to carry concealed in every state without a permit.  I disagree, and I have such a permit.  The permitting requirements should be extremely liberal.  I believe anyone who can legally own a gun should be able to carry concealed providing he or she can demonstrate that they have the ability to shoot, that they know the legal ramifications if they do shoot, and that they have had some training in using a concealed weapon for self-defense.  For those reasons and those reasons only, I believe a CCW permit should be required.  

California also current;y requires you to register any gun which you may wish to carry concealed; it must be listed on your permit and only three can be listed at any one time.  Further, the guns you list must be examined by the sheriff's department to verify serial numbers, etc.  I think that is an onerous and unnecessary requirement; you should be able to conceal-carry any sidearm which you may legally have in your possession.  

This is an exciting ruling.  It gives me hope that there are still some corners of sanity left in this country.

IS THE GESTAPO GOING TO GET US?

The slime flowing out of Wisconsin has all of the earmarks of an Obama-Holder targeting of a political enemy, very much similar to the IRS targeting of conservative groups and the DOJ investigation of Fox's James Rosen and the Associated Press.  This story originates with the election of Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker and his subsequent diminishing of public employee union power in that state. The Wisconsin Club for Growth has filed suit against a judge and prosecutors who are reportedly using a grand jury to investigate alleged illegal coordination between interest groups and an unnamed campaign, believed to be that of Gov. Scott Walker.  

The word on the streets in Wisconsin is that the investigations were instigated at the behest of the labor unions.  You may recall that Obama tried to back the unions during a controversial standoff inside the Wisconsin State Capitol; there is speculation that Eric Holder's DOJ has played a role in the investigation.  

In the filing with the U.S. District Court in Milwaukee, the Wisconsin Club for Growth and its treasurer, Eric O'Keefe, argue the probe violates their rights to free speech, free assembly and equal protection under the law.  

It appears that overt and totally unconstitutional oppression against political enemies is well under way in this country.

CAN CONGRESS STOP IRS ABUSE?

Sens. Jeff Flake (R., Ariz.) and Pat Roberts (R., Kansas) introduced on Tuesday the “Stop Targeting of Political Beliefs by the IRS Act.” The bill would protect the free-speech rights of 501(c)(4) organizations by prohibiting for one year the finalization of a proposed Internal Revenue Service (IRS) regulation that would significantly limit the advocacy and educational activities of these groups. The bill would also prevent additional targeting of 501(c)(4) organizations by restoring the IRS 501(c)(4) standards and definitions that were in place before the start of the agency’s targeting of conservative groups in 2010.  

First off, we have to presume that those two dudes are about to be audited.  The IRS, undoubtedly under the direction of someone in the White House, is in the process of rewriting its internal regulation that applies only to 501 (c)(4) organizations to narrowly define permissible activities.  The re-write does not address another other sections of the code, such as 501 (c)(3).  Given this fact, we have to know that the White House is going to put on a full-court-press to stop the pending legislation in its tracks.  

From the observation deck, it will be interesting to see just who lines up for the proposal and who lines up against it, the November elections being just nine months away.  Odds are that it will never come to the floor of the House.  When the corrupt are in charge, the battle of good against evil is a dead issue.  We have to make drastic changes in Washington and the sooner, the better.

SAY NO TO IMMIGRATION REFORM

Without exception, every time Obama and his goons have tried to ramrod something down our throats it has turned into a disaster.  Now, there's this big rush to get immigration reform through Congress and signed by Obama tomorrow, if any way possible.  The Democrats, and Obama in particular, are so much in trouble over the lies and broken promises of ObamaCare that they are desperate to have some semblance of a victory between now and the fall elections.  That's why Obama has had Kerry playing cow-tow with Tehran, in an effort to get a peace accord signed, sealed and delivered by November, even if the "accord" is as worthless as the parchment it's written on. 

And I say, let us have all of the answers about Benghazi, Fast & Furious and the I.R.S. abuses before we we even talk about immigration reform.  What's wrong with that?

IT'S TIME TO TURN UP THE HEAT

Our President has made it abundantly clear that he doesn't give a damned about the fact our Constitution gives one-third of governmental authority to Congress.  He doesn't care that it is the job of Congress to enact the laws, the Supreme Court's job to decide on constitutionality of laws, and his job to enforce the laws.  This maverick has openly stated: if I can't get want I want the legal way, I'm going to use Executive Orders to get what I want, and if I don't want to enforce some provision of a law which I don't like, I'm not going to.  

Up until now, we haven't had a dictator in this country since we ran the British out. 

We have a Republican-controlled House which refuses to ask the tough questions about the dirty White House deeds.  We have a Democrat-controlled Senate that refuses to respond to anything unless the dictator in the White House orders them to.   Granted, there are a few patriot Congressmen and fewer patriot Senators who want America to get its house in order; but, let's face it, they have all been successfully marginalized.  

We need to seize our country back from the grasp of a Progressive-Marxist regime.   The only way we can accomplish this is to throw out the  Progressives, (all Democrats and all of the old-guard Republicans), in Congress, and we need to replace them with patriotic, loyalist Americans. 

It's not going to be easy, so we can't wait until October to get started.  We need to get started now. 
The November elections are just nine months away; now is the time for all good Americans to turn up the heat on Washington.

He risks his Presidency, all of his agendas and the possibility of impeachment by refusing to allow witnesses to testify about the Benghazi Massacre and by himself refusing to come clean.  Why?

A GOVERNMENT CONSPIRACY AGAINST US?

Let’s face it: Our President and his Administration have gotten away with an unprecedented series of attacks on the Constitution, numerous end-runs around Congress, the seizure of a substantial portion of our economy through the advent of ObamaCare and virtually capturing the power of government through the use of Executive Orders.   In a normal atmosphere, you would expect Congress to balk and to take immediate, decisive action to put these criminal abuses to an end, but we all know that Harry Reid is of the same ilk of the President, so he won’t allow the Senate to intervene.  

Is this really a case of the inmates running the asylum?  

As for the House… Well, taking a step back and looking at the bigger picture you have to ask:  is this just one big dog and pony show?  

• ·         Fast and Furious, big investigation, lots of noise, crowing and posturing, assertion of Executive Privilege and poof, Fast & Furious vanishes into thin air, rarely to be heard from again.  

• ·         Benghazi?  We had open lies and a massive cover up from the outset, followed by Administration obfuscation and steadfast refusal to cooperate; they even hid witnesses and refused to allow their testimony.  The House had its investigations, lots of rhetoric… and then what? Sputter, sputter. 

• ·         Well, now… the IRS scandal.  Holder hires a big Obama contributor to investigate it, after which DOJ and Obama say the scandal did nothing illegal... not even a smidgeon... and is to be dismissed, while Lois Lerner takes the 5^th?  Why didn’t the House waive prosecution so she couldn’t take the 5^th?  Or, was the House inquiry just for appearances?    

There are numerous examples of where the House should have initiated an inquiry into filing Articles of Impeachment.  Why didn’t they do so?  WHY WON'T THEY ASK THE TOUGH AND POINTED QUESTIONS?  

Or, is the simple truth of the matter that both the Democrats and the Republicans in both Houses of Congress are really complicit with the President’s agenda?  Is the perceived House of Representatives outrage just part of the good old boy Progressive dog and pony show?

THE PRESIDENT'S SECRETS

It's really obvious that this "transparency" thing originated with Grimm's Fairy Tales.  Why, for example, did the President see fit to grant Executive Privilege to Eric Holder to keep him from telling the secrets about Fast & Furious?  Why is the Administration stonewalling it over the Benghazi Massacre?  If there's truly and absolutely no conspiracy in the IRS / conservative scandal, why is the White House refusing to come clean with relevant documents?  

All of this leads me to the NSA domestic spying program.  You have virtually every dimwit in Washington assuring us that they're not listening and watching us.  Do they have the capabilities to do that?  Yes.  Will they tell us just exactly what they are doing with this technology then?  No... that's a secret. 

Well, just why would our government want to keep secrets from us?  The most common and blatant reason is... they're doing something illegal or totally unethical and they don't want us to know about it.  Perhaps that is why they are now proposing that it be a criminal offense for a news outlet to repeat, print or broadcast a whistle blower's story, even if it is correct.  This stance is couched in the argument that, if you bring stolen goods to a news reporter and he keeps them, he's guilty of receiving stolen goods; therefore, if the reporter accepts and prints a story from a whistle blower about illegal government activities, the reporter is guilty of stealing national secrets.  

I don't know about you, but I've had my fill of this Obama "transparency."  I intend to tell my Congressional delegation to put a stop to it.  How about you?  Wouldn't you really like to know the full story behind Benghazi?

TALKING CARS

The Federal Government is trying to decide whether or not to require automobile manufacturers who sell cars in this country to install technology that enables cars to communicate with each other; theoretically, cars reporting each others' positions could prevent all accidents except those caused by mechanical failure and drunk driving.  A transponder would continually transmit the vehicle's position, speed and direction. 

I can just see it now: You get into your car, buckle up and tell your car to drive you to your cousin's house.  The response: "Don't bug me; I'm busy talking with that cute pink Maserati coming down the street." 

Supposing you're heading down the highway and there's a car coming from the opposite direction.  All of the sudden, a third car appears from a side road and your car automatically swerves to the left; the oncoming car automatically swerves to the right to avoid you, goes off a cliff and kills all occupants.  Had you not been over-ruled by your own car, you would have would have braked and swerved to the right, opting for the shoulder or corn field where all lives would be spared.  What are the legal and insurance ramifications.  Who are they going to sue, you or your car?  

Will your car prevent you from speeding?  If you're going to have to pass a car that's going too slow, will your car prevent you from exceeding the speed limit in order to get around the other guy?  If you see a 700 pound gorilla sauntering across the road, will your car prevent you from slamming on the brakes and swerving to avoid hitting the gorilla, just because there's a little old lady from Pasadena on her Cushman motor scooter five miles behind you? 

What language will they use to communicate with each other?  Suppose one car is owned by an Apache and the other one is owned by a Navajo... What language will the cars use to communicate?  If you grab your girlfriend and head for a motel to cheat on your wife, what's the danger of your car running YOU over a cliff?  If your car doesn't like the way you cleaned the windshield, is it going to chase you down and run you over?  

On the other hand, this would be really a good solution for liberal drivers.  They usually have their heads so far up their own rear-ends that they couldn't see the highway without a glass stomach.

THE CRISIS OF AMERICAN CONFIDENCE

How certain are you that your savings account, if any, won't be wiped out by ObamaCare and higher taxes?  How confident are you that you will have the same level of income this year as last?  How high do you think the risk is that we will have a major Middle East war within the next 11 months?  Will the nation face further religious adversity in 2014?  Do you really think we are going to get answers on Benghazi, Fast & Furious, the IRS, the NSA, the DOJ or ObamaCare this year? Can you trust anything...anything... your President tells you?  For that matter, what's your level of confidence in our Congress?  

It's dismal, isn't it? 

So... what are you going to do about it?

STARK-NAKED PROOF AGAINST GUN CONTROL

Down in Mexico, it's illegal for common citizens like you and me to own guns.  When the drug cartels come rolling into town with their automatic rifles blazing, the police throw down their weapons or go running away and innocent men, women and children get killed.  The people have finally had enough; they're getting their hands on guns and starting to fight back.  

Initially, the Mexican government was ready to go seize those illegally-owned arms and throw the citizens in jail.  But the police were seeing a big change; suddenly, the drug cartels have been meeting armed resistance and things have been improving.  Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto has announced a plan wherein the citizen vigilante forces, if they meet certain criteria, can become part of a government-sanctioned Rural Defense Corps. 

And therein lies the proof: an armed citizenry keeps crime and mayhem in check.  Period.

ARE WE A HELPLESS NATION?

If I've heard this question once, I've heard it hundreds of times: "Just what can we do about it?"  That question is usually posed with frustration about some agency or segment of government, be it local, state or federal. 

Is this some kind of surrender?  Since when do we just roll over, throw in the towel and play dead in this country?  Are we so glued on the "meek shall inherit the earth" doctrine that we just don't have the gumption to stick up for ourselves?  I do know people who won't complain when the store clerk rings up the wrong amount or the neighbor's dog kills their cat, but is that who we really are? 

On both my paternal and maternal sides, my ancestors landed in this country in the 1600's.  Since that time, we fought the British for Independence, we had the War of 1812, the Spanish-American War, World Wars 1 and 2, Korea, Vietnam, two Gulf wars, Afghanistan... no where in this litany of defense of freedom do I see Americans turning their backs on a fight.  Moreover, many times in our history Americans have banded together to make their voices heard in Washington.  

Why not now? 

You don't like ObamaCare?  Who voted for it?  You don't like Fast & Furious or Benghazi investigations and results?  Who is in the way of answers?  Congress has the lowest approval rating of any history in the country?  Are you going to reelect any of them? 

We are in an internal war.  It's a war about the soul and foundation of America.  It's literally patriotic American against them... the ones who want to dismantle 250 years of nation-building and growth of democracy for their own self ends.  Is this the time to roll over and play dead? 

If our Congress is not doing its job, we have a patriotic duty to replace it.  If we don't have the backbone to accomplish that, we need to pack up and move to Venezuela, Cuba... even Russia, where people without backbones are welcomed with open arms.  

So, while you're watching the Super Bowl tomorrow, don't take the time to talk about ObamaCare... talk about what you are going to do about it.  Talk about the job your Congressional delegates have done and how they have voted about the issues which concern you.  Talk about who should be replaced.  Remember...the elections are only 10 months away.  It's again time to prove we are NOT a helpless nation.
