SPECIAL POST
Here’s a quick synopsis
of why President Barack Obama is doing everything possible to avoid talking
about his track record during his first term in office:
Stimulus: He
promised the $825 stimulus would create or save 3.5 million jobs, mostly in the
private sector; the reality is that it created or saved somewhere between
600,000 and 1.6 million jobs, many in federal or state government.
Home Foreclosures:
Obama’s special housing program was claimed to save 7 to 9 million homes from
foreclosure. It actually helped 1.7 million
homes at an astronomical cost per house, and many of those are still in
danger.
Jobs: Every month
he promised that he was going to make jobs his number one priority the
following month. He said he would create
5 million new jobs in renewable energy alone.
He lost 4.3 million jobs, added back 4.2 million and, with more people
entering the work force, unemployment actually went up, although the current
methodology of calculation does not take into account those who fell off the
unemployment rolls and quit looking for work.
Debt, Deficit: He
said he would cut the deficit in half; the debt, he said, was “unpatriotic.”
However, he added almost $6 trillion in 3-1/2 years, more than Bush did in eight.
Gas Prices: Then:
$1.79 per gallon. Now: Over $4.00…
pushing $6.00 in California. Remember
all of that renewable energy he was going to create? The fact is that he wants higher fuel prices
so he can force people into smaller cars or mass transportation.
Tax Increases: He promised
no increases on anybody making less than $250,000 per year. He has already enacted increased taxes on
tobacco, tanning salons, the individual mandate… totaling $670 billion and he
wants to enact $1 trillion more in taxes next year without cutting spending one
dime.
Health Insurance Costs:
He promised his ObamaCare would reduce healthcare costs. So far, premiums workers pay for insurance
had increased by 17.5%. Mine has gone up
by almost 30%.
Foreign Affairs:
His insistence that his new style of soft-shoe foreign policy would end
international strife has resulted in: the Libyan situation; North Korea
becoming more belligerent; Iran on the precipice of having nuclear weapons; a
Middle East tinderbox and a Mexican drug cartel running rampant. In many
friendly foreign countries, we are now the laughing stock of the world… a paper
dragon.
That's MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.
