President Barack Hussein Obama came forth to the White House Press Corps and coughed up a birth certificate this morning to prove that, indeed, he was not only born... but he was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. So sayeth the Messiah, the omnipotent one.
His would-be pretender, Donald Trump, was elated and proud. The press attending Trump's announcement minutes before Obama spoke was enthralled as "The Donald" spoke about the White House miracle and asked, "Why didn't he do this before?"
Indeed, why didn't he? One's initial reaction is to ask if the ink is yet dry on this birth certificate. Was Obama really born? If he was really born, was it in Honolulu or is this birth certificate simply another Tony Rezko-Bill Ayers-Jeremiah Wright minuet?
Only time will tell, of course. The experts will now examine the certificate and all will weigh in on its purported authenticity. Even the royal wedding has been upstaged by this turn of events, but we don't yet know if Obama's moment of tribulation will end the storm of controversy, or not.
