THE WALL: WILL TRUMP'S BASE LEAVE HIM?

Anybody who has ever played the game of chess knows that you learn to never signal to your opponent what your next move might be.  In fact, you might deliberately make a move on the game board that doesn't make sense, just to throw your opponent off guard while you line up a checkmate.  

Within split seconds after the President announced he was willing to reopen the government for three weeks, the mainstream media, the Dimocrats and the RINOS all jumped with glee at the prospect Trump was on the ropes.  Even FOX NEWS suggested that Trump's loyal supporters would flee in droves and, as evidence, they pointed their bony fingers at Ann Coulter, who lambasted the President unmercifully.  

Trump is no dummy; he may be a novice at politics, but he's pulled off a lot of "impossible" things in his short time in office.  I'm sure he knows, as a result of the push-back by the country when he signed that mega-trillion dollar budget last year without so much as a dime toward his border wall, that he needs to stick to his guns and get the wall built.  His base knows all of this as well.  

If the President actually does "cave" and he doesn't win  on the wall in two weeks... then you can expect a mass exodus from his base and you can expect a 2020 defeat.  But to the 3,562 Democrats who are lining up to run for the job in 2020 themselves I say... don't count your chickens until the eggs hatch.
