This country is sick and tired of the political games being played in Washington. For decades now, we have watched our country... our economy, our sovereignty, our status among nations and our individual rights and liberties... fade away under a government that has become corrupt, elitist and non-responsive to the needs and wants of its people. We have watched as Congress has trashed the concept of "consent of the governed."
Although exacerbated under the Obama dynasty, those unwelcome changes in our government started many decades ago and they've snowballed over those years. We, the people, finally got fed up and you saw a change in the dynamics during the 2016 election cycle. Or, were we simply just bamboozled? The Republicans did everything in their power to resist the changes we were insisting upon, but they eventually saw the light and caved in... or did they?
Now that they've managed to retain their cushy jobs, are they just giving us lip-service to the idea that things are actually going to change? Or, is the song-and-dance, smoke-and-mirror game in full swing?
They promised to repeal and change ObamaCare; now they plan to just "put lipstick on the pig." They promised to go ahead and deal with illegal immigration and to build that border wall; now, they say "maybe" they'll do it later. Those two tenets of the 2016 Republican campaign became the linchpins of their ultimate win, but it certainly appears that they are now planning to practice the age-old political strategy of "all talk and no walk."
That simply is not acceptable. It's not acceptable to me and it's not acceptable to the Americans who voted for those charlatans, and our disgust and anger is going to manifest itself in the 2018 elections and I promise you... the day of reckoning not only will come, but it will come in a thunderous roar.
