SPECIAL POST
Speculation ran rampant over the weekend as to the meaning of James Comey's memo to Congress about resuming the investigation into Hillary Clinton's endless emails. My own personal take on it, as expressed in a special Friday afternoon post on WE'RE NOT TO BLAME, is that the information Comey has developed is so overwhelming and damning that he simply had to act just 11 days before the election, or that he was facing a revolt among valued top agents at the FBI over letting Clinton off the hook in July and thereby bringing aspersion upon the FBI.
Perhaps it was a combination of both; we don't know yet.
Such putrid revelations usually ooze out of the Washington cesspool late on a Friday afternoon when they will inevitably die over the weekend; this news came mid-day Friday and had plenty of time to percolate behind the closed doors of Washington officialdom. I can just imagine what Hillary's reaction was to the news; she probably won't need to use any Ex-Lax for months. She made a short, terse remark on the subject late in the day and undoubtedly headed straight off to Chappaqua to hide under the bed.
I cannot believe the spin being circulated, that the FBI "just now" discovered damaging emails as a result of an investigation into Anthony Weiner's sexting scandal. If that were truly the case, and the FBI really had to start delving through some emails in order to determine whether or not there was actionable cause to go after Hillary and, given the timing of things, Comey would certainly have opted to wait until he had a better determination of what the contents of those emails disclosed. In other words, the spin is unbelievable; he either has something new, something totally damning, something compelling him to take steps now, or his FBI agents have his back to the wall.
Either way, you have to ask if this means there could be an indictment coming. Could there be a referral to a Grand Jury in the works? Has it already been submitted to a Grand Jury and we just don't know about it? We may know the answers to these questions before you finish reading my post. Something has to break loose before the day is out.
Buried in this landslide of muck came the news that Loretta Lynch is herself on the hot seat, having refused to talk to Congress about details of the $1.7 billion in cash transferred from us to Iran. Any move by Comey to bring or recommend a Grand Jury into Clinton's picture would surely have to be approved by Lynch. World Saturday was that Lynch had already told Comey to keep his damned mouth shut before he wrote his memo to Congress. But, for some ominous reason, he didn't.
Maybe, just maybe... we Americans might save our country yet.
That's MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.
