President Barack Hussein Obama, having heretofore refused to
cooperate with a House investigation into the Solyndra scandal, yesterday rebuffed
the resulting subpoena while insisting that the request was too broad and would put an
"unreasonable burden on the president's ability to meet his constitutional
duties." The move sets up a Constitutional challenge that could
stall the investigation until after the November 2012 election. The House is determined to find out who knew
what and whether or not Obama accepted political contributions in return for
his authorization of the loan guarantees which Solyndra has now filed
bankruptcy on.
If
you have nothing to hide, why hide it?
Furthermore, we now have the situation where the target of the
investigation is telling the investigators what they can and cannot do. This transcends the doctrine of “executive
privilege” and enters the realm of obstruction of justice, similar to the Nixon
stance over Watergate.
While
the White House has turned over “thousands of documents” to the Committee,
documents directly relating to the specific issue have not yet been
provided. "Unfortunately, we had to take this step
after the White House has continued to slow walk the production of documents
necessary for this investigation by only releasing selected documents and
records," said Rep. Cliff Stearns, R-Fla., chairman of the House panel
investigating the matter, in a prepared statement.
My guess is that the House will get the documents after they have been gone thoroughly through and sanitized, sometime shortly after Obama provides the country with a legitimate U.S. birth certificate.
That’s MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.
