GO AHEAD, SHUT IT DOWN!

SPECIAL POST

ENOUGH with all of the posturing, whining and outright refusal to deal with the budget!  Just close the damned government down!  Who needs all of this never-ending bull anyway?  Every minute they stay open, they screw the American public just a little bit more!

They don't want to listen to us?  Close them down!

That's MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.

IF YOU CAN'T TRIM THE FAT, GET OUT OF CONGRESS

The real crux of the budget cut issue is that the Federal government has pissed away our money and now WE have to suffer for it; that’s the rub. We have high unemployment and all the economic gurus in Washington can say is, “get used to it.” People have lost jobs, cars, houses and families because of what our damned government has done to us. And now, they have the unmitigated gall to ask us to pay for it all.

That having been said, now what? As of this writing, we’re at a budget standoff in Congress with the bully wolves on one side huffing and puffing and the bully bears on the other side huffing and puffing. Then, we have the weeping former Speaker and the wimpy Senate majority leader running around the theatre yelling, “Fire! Fire! They’re trying to shut down the government!” That’s good old Nancy and Harry for you; if they can’t win an argument with facts, they resort to scare tactics. “If we don’t pass this TARP by 6:00 PM tonight, the sky will fall! 200 million people will go without health care unless we pass this legislation by midnight! Fire! Fire!”

Part of the problem is that they are on the course of picking and choosing, and that sets the country up for playing favorites and outright discrimination, like we saw when they forced the shutdown of automobile dealers in profitable locations, simply because they voted Republican or were in conservative districts. In the case of Planned Parenthood and other organizations that get government grants, the executives understand all too well that, if their income gets cut, they’re either going to have to take a pay cut or lose their jobs. Some of those positions of “charity and community service” pay rather large six-figure incomes.

Another part of the problem is that our government has established hundreds, probably thousands, of fiefdoms. “This is MY territory! Don’t screw with it!” Just try and change that thinking and you’ll have the Civil Service on your case faster than greased lightning.  So, how anxious do you think they are to lose an employee or have to cut back on some expense?

Okay, someone suggests that we make things easy and just chop every expense by some amount… say 10% across the board. The outcry is that some vital functions are underfunded as is and such a cut could force them to shut down altogether. Other functions are new and in a start-up mode where they need extra dollars to kick things off, like ObamaCare, for example. Good old ObamaCare… entitlements are at the root of some of this problem, but how can we justify cutting Social Security or Medicare and retaining this new albatross?

The biggest problem we face in this mess is the total lack of responsible leadership. Everybody is shucking and ducking, maneuvering and scheming and no one is coming to grips with the fact that this country is in deep doo doo.

Private industry has proven that it can operate effectively with fewer people on the payroll and by trimming other expenses. Revenues are down, profits are up. Why can’t government accomplish the same thing? Here they are in the process of hiring 200,000 more IRS agents to police ObamaCare. With whose money?

It may well be that the only solution is to close down the government. Close the doors. Send Nancy and Harry home and keep everybody home until we have saved $1 trillion. Then reopen and stay open and repeat the process next year unless they come up with a better solution on their own. All I know is that I’m madder than hell because Washington caused all of this and Washington is not stepping up to the plate to fix it. So, who needs them, anyway? Thank GOD the next election is only 20 months away!

That’s MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.

DUMB AS A POST?

SPECIAL POST

Obama seems to me to be obsessed with the idea that the American citizen is as dumb as a post.  Take his recent stance on our deficit and his proposed budget, for example.  He has given several speeches where he seems to agree that this country is in deep, deep financial trouble, and then he promises to fix it.  Well, anyone who has paid even the slightest attention to this baboon understands that what he says bears no relationship at all to what he does.

He makes a big speech the other day talking about how his new budget is going to save us $1.1 trillion off the national debt over the next ten years.  Yet, we are slated to increase the national debt by $1.65 trillion in this year alone.  Already, the fuzzy math that is going to save us money is going to cost us half a trillion bucks in the very first year.

And, evidently, he expects us not to catch this "fuzzy math."

This is why I have quit paying attention to what the guy is saying.  Every time he comes on the tube, I either change channels or turn the contraption off on go barf.  This guy not only knows how to doublespeak, he can triple speak and trillionspeak faster than a speeding bullet!

Sometimes, I wish he would just shut the hell up.

That's MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.

ANOTHER OBAMA DEATH BLOW TO THE ECONOMY?

Yes, the economy is showing some outward signs of improvement and for this I am grateful. Nevertheless, we are a long way from being out of the woods, other economic indicators are worrisome, and now Obama wants to turn loose a rise in housing interest rates and a tightening of money for housing loans. Plus, he wants to double the unemployment insurance payroll tax on businesses and he wants to “lend” $53 billion to states to bail them out of their pension problems, all while supposedly reducing the deficit.

I have to think that, as it was in Egypt, if all it takes is 19 days of protest in the streets to get rid of a President, we should all get on a plane right now and head for Washington. He has the Audacity to do these things to us and we all have the Hope that he’ll move back to Kenya… soon.

Obama wants to close down Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac over a five year period. I have to say that the lack of Federal oversight on the part of a horrible Congress directly led to the housing debacle that those two organizations created. It is difficult for me to understand how Chris Dodd and Barney Frank could be browbeating them into giving out loans to people who could not afford them and then for the Congress to blame those organizations for doing it. That being said, we all have to agree that the housing market was in an unsustainable and spiraling inflationary spin out of control and it was all being fueled by Frankfarter, Doddle and Waters, et al.

The proposed cure for all of this could well be worse. We have tons of foreclosures going on and no bank is selling or financing;  unemployment and underemployment are making it impossible for anyone to buy a house anyway. Further drying up of available financing by forcing Freddie and Fannie to close up shop can only lead to three things: higher interest rates, tighter loan requirements, and the ultimate total collapse of the housing market. I’m no brain surgeon and I can figure that out. Nevertheless, that’s what Obama wants to do.

For months, business has been battered by declining revenues, the question about abolition of the Bush Tax Cuts, ObamaCare and a seemingly endless parade of other terrific Obama initiatives. With the extension of the tax cuts, businesses felt at least some sigh of relief, but now the illustrious Messiah wants to raise the payroll tax to make up for the costs of unemployment claims. Duh? What enthusiasm was starting to develop in the business world has just been doused by millions of gallons of bad and very briny water.

Like a bull in the proverbial China closet, Obama twists and turns and decides we should spend another $53 billion to help the states because…. They can’t print money like Obama can and they are all facing financial ruin unless they can find some alleviation of their predicament. They have declining tax revenues, higher social needs, high costs due to ObamaCare, dozens of new unfunded mandates, and payroll pensions with built-in escalation clauses. Their cavalier high spending over the years has mimicked Washington’s and it’s now time to pay the piper. Obama wants to let them off the hook, bail them out with more of our money so that state workers, mostly union members, can retain their pension plans while the rest of the country goes over the cliff.

And, speaking of the cliff at the edge of the abyss of debt, Obama is truly the man whose lips you need to read; forget about George H.W. Bush!

Every day that goes by reveals to a greater detail what a bad decision this country made when it elected this jackass to be its President and then stacked the deck with a bunch of liberal weenies in Congress. We Americans still have a mountain of work to do in the next two years, and we’d better roll up our sleeves and get to it.

That's MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.

UNEMPLOYMENT: ANOTHER OBAMA LIE

Ever since before Barack Hussein Obama took office, there has been one lie or denial after another. Everything from a denial of ever knowing or having anything to do with William Ayers, Tony Rezko, Jeremiah Wright or ACORN, to outright fabrication of figures on his ARA website; all of these things are directly attributable to our President. The budgetary lies about Health Care and the bundle of mistruths about how the system would work further underscore one plain and simple fact: Our President and his cohorts are consistently lying and misrepresenting the facts to us.

Here’s the latest: Unemployment has dropped from 9.4% to 9.0%!!! My God! Let’s party! But, wait a moment. The Department of Labor tells us we need to add 250,000 jobs per month just to keep new people entering the work force employed. Last month, we added a paltry 36,000 jobs to the economy, so 214,000 more people were unemployed; yet, the unemployment percentage went down. How can that be? And, what about the new people who are being laid off at about 40,000 per week? What about them?

Someone is not telling the whole truth.

Remember when unemployment started to rise back in 2008? What about those people? Well, some are back to work and some are not. Those who are not can no longer collect unemployment benefits, so they are off the rolls and not counted in the unemployment statistics. Why not? Depending on which economist you talk to and when you factor in all of the people who no longer qualify for unemployment benefits and those who are only working part-time, the percentage of unemployed and underemployed is estimated at being somewhere between 16% and 19%. Why don’t they report on that? Because it’s not “convenient?”

Why does the housing sector continue in the toilet while the number of foreclosures is at a historical high if unemployment is actually going down? If unemployment is getting better, why isn’t payroll tax revenue going up?

They are quick to point out that the stock market is going up. But, where did all of that TARP and stimulus money go? It went to banks and big business, right? The average working stiff never saw any benefit from it. On the other hand, average working stiffs don’t make big political contributions, either.

We have a President who steadfastly refuses to reveal his college records or to release his birth certificate. That fact alone underscores that this guy cannot be trusted. He hides, he lies, he misleads. In short, he is not fit to be President of this country.

It’s time we got all liars and cheaters and manipulators out of public office. In this respect, maybe we should all take a lesson from Egypt. See what happens when you let your government be run by scalawags?

That's MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.

SENATE HORSE SHIT

SPECIAL POST

There is a move on in the the Democrat-controlled U.S. Senate, to have hearings in the Judicial Committee to decide whether or not ObamaCare is Constitutional.  The move has not been widely publicized, thanks to the liberal controlled media.

The game plan is to reach a consensus that ObamaCare is Constitutional and to thereby embarrass the Supreme Court into voting in favor of ObamaCare when the issue comes before them.  This move was in the works prior to the recent Federal Judge ruling in Florida that it is unconstitutional and, now that the ruling has been handed down, they are planning to go ahead with the plan.

All I can say is, "Jesus Christ, man!  Do you have to be hit over the head with a sledge hammer before you understand why all of your friends got voted out?"

That's MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.

JIMMY CARTER’S IRAN: OBAMA’S EGYPTIAN DÉJÀ VU?

Jimmy Carter, the fine, upstanding and ever so capable President in 1977, stood firmly at the helm of American diplomacy when Islamic extremists toppled the Shah of Iran. Carter justified his actions, or inactions, by pointing out that the Shah was not exactly the best of world dictators. But, any student of history will tell you that he was our ally in the region. Carter essentially cut his feet out from under him and we ended up with a string of Ayatollahs determined to destroy America and the advent of Iranian nukes that Obama is currently ignoring.

Which brings us to the subject of Egypt: there has been growing protest in that country against longtime President Hosni Mubarak who is on his fifth consecutive six-year term. Although he has instituted some essential financial reforms in his country, he has left the poor and the middle class behind; there is some evidence, at least strong allegations, that the last election was rigged. In recent days, protests have turned violent and millions of Egyptians want Mubarak ousted. Mubarak may be gone by the time you read this but, for the moment, he has dismissed his entire cabinet, promised reforms, and stated he will form a new government starting today.

President Obama, the fine, upstanding and so capable President of 2011, now stands at the helm of American diplomacy as Islamic extremists seek to topple the President of Egypt. He spoke last night, briefly telling Mubarak to toe the line and warning the protesters against continued violence. There is no doubt about the fact that Mubarak is corrupt and doesn’t seem to care about anyone but himself. Yet, if Islamic extremists install themselves into power in Egypt, that will just be one more breeding ground for Al Queda terrorism and the current balance of power, as fragile as it is in the Middle East, will be torn to shreds.

In short, as much of a skunk as Mubarak is, we are much better having him in charge then some new Egyptian Ayatollah.

I don’t think it takes a rocket scientist to see how successful Obama’s “bow to the enemy” strategy has been. As to whether or not Obama will come down on the correct side of the situation, one only needs to remember that Obama is a Marxist and, at the very least, a closet Muslim. He had a radical left agenda during his first two years in the White House that leads one to imagine that he might well either come down on the side of the “democratic rebellion” in Egypt or that he just might remain on the sidelines and let the chips fall where they may.

Tunisia started this ruckus, and now we have Egypt ready to topple its leader and it is only a matter of time until… uh, oh, it’s already happening. Overnight, unrest in Jordan has reared its ugly head. Like Egypt, Jordan has been a key ally in American Middle East strategy. The fall of these two counties into radical Islamic hands most certainly would directly lead to World War III. It is going to take a very strong coalition of leaders to deal with this situation. But, like Carter, Obama seems content to keep his Nobel Peace Prize well polished and in prominent view.

Déjà vu? Or, deja voo doo?

That’s MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.

OBAMA'S CONTINUING BUMPTIOUSNESS

SPECIAL POST

Here I sit in front of the keyboards trying to think of something upbeat and nice to say about the President’s State of the Union speech last night. Yes, the speech was everything I thought it would be… a somewhat cavalier and arrogant lot of “to do” about nothing. My hopes for this President have been let down so many times that there’s no more room for letdown. What this country desperately needs is a dynamic, positive and patriotic President who we can trust and believe in and Obama has once again proven himself to be the consummate antithesis.

I guess if I had to say anything positive about the speech, it would be that I didn’t hear any more lies, mistruths or half-truths from him than I have heard before. I find it amusing that this guy has piled up more national debts in two years than the previous umpteen Presidents combined, and yet he has the audacity to say… once again… we have to cut spending. Maybe if we could take his damned pen out of his hand for the next two years, we could actually reduce spending.

The guy says we need to resolve the immigration problem and Congress needs to work together to accomplish that. Then, he goes on to say that we should not be expelling the bright and capable ones because we need help in technology and other sectors? What about the thousands of excellent, well-trained and bright people we have here in our country legally who are out of jobs? What does he mean by all of this?

Obama has never responded to the real needs of America unless we backed him into a corner, and then he has consistently misled his way out of it. What I heard last night sounded to me like more of the same.

What the country really needed to hear was something like this: “We may need to add some taxes in the short term to help us reduce the deficit, but we are going to do our job in Washington by cutting here, and here, and here. We’ll match your tax dollar increases two for one with cuts in Washington.” That’s the kind of inspirational leadership we need, but we all know that Obama will never be the one to give it.

What I see coming is a Republican House being unable to get anything past a Democratic Senate and vice-versa for another two years. If something good does manage to squeak by and get to Obama’s desk, he is likely to veto it if it originated with the Republicans and pass it if in originated with the Democrats. It’s all that simple.

One thing Obama did prove to me last night is that, as a President, he is now excess baggage…. Just along for the ride. He’s lost the support of the far left, never had the support of the right, and has alienated the affections of the independents. But, he still has Nancy and Harry… or does he?

That’s MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.

THE REPUBLICANS AND HEALTH CARE

In the eight years of Bush 1, no Republican touched health care issues. The Democrats then pounced on the increasing problems, but the Republicans were able to stymie health care under the Clintons. Then came Bush 2 and another eight years of doing nothing about health care. Now, Obama has been successful in cramming a health care plan down the throats of American people who do not want this atrocious program and the Republicans are trying to repeal ObamaCare.

Yes, this health care plan is terrible; however, the question is whether or not the Republicans are finally willing to put forth their own plan?

The circumstances that created the atmosphere which allowed Obama, Pelosi and Reid to perpetrate this terrible tragedy for the American people were rising insurance premiums, rising prescription costs, rising hospital costs and rising legal and medical malpractice costs for providers. If the Republicans had tackled those issues, bringing down the costs of health care and thereby making health care affordable for more people, why would we need this new government largess?

They have set about voting for repeal in the House and succeeded, but I still don’t see them coming with another plan. Are we going to go back to where we were before, with no progress in controlling health care costs, or are the Republicans going to produce some plan to get costs under control? That is the question of the day.

If the Republicans don’t produce a plan to address health care costs within the next few months, they are finished. What we Americans are demanding right now is the reduction of Congressional spending, a stronger economy, jobs and a viable plan to trash ObamaCare and reduce health care costs. They cannot fail or they are toast.

This can be accomplished while abolishing an ObamaCare machine that is going to cost us in too many ways, including more government intervention in our daily lives. We can open health insurance for sales across state lines; that’s a good idea. Without violating state rights, we can mandate that states create tort reform within their own jurisdictions and leave the details up to them. We can put a cap on profit margins for pharmaceuticals and we can create cost savings in hospitals. Part of the problem is that doctors own stock in drug companies, both own stock in hospitals and labs, hospitals and labs own stock in drug companies….they’ve all become a conglomerate of money grubbers that needs to be dismantled.

What we need to do as Americans is to put the heat on the Republicans to get off their fat posteriors and do something. Our country is in peril in many ways, and we cannot afford to have a “do nothing Congress” any longer. Someone there needs to grab the torch of leadership and to get us moving in the right direction; this could be the end of the Republican party altogether if they fail to step up to the plate.

That’s MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.

LET'S START TAKING NAMES

SPECIAL POST

The more we get into the new year and the new Congress, the more it becomes apparent that we have been correct in our assumptions.  There are  a whole lot of people still left in Congress who did not get the November message, and they will have to be removed in 2012.

Let's start taking names.

IS WAR IMMINENT? OUR EXTERNAL DANGERS

While the nation has been pre-occupied with many other things, we the people have become uninformed about some serious dangers lurking outside of our country. Our President, who has made it clear that he is not capable of dealing with threats, is now faced with BIG threats from North Korea, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Mexico and Venezuela. Any one of these powder kegs could ignite World War III in a heartbeat.

The two actions that North Korea recently launched against South Korea are the worst provocations in 57 years of the armistice. A war there could kill hundreds of thousands of people overnight due to the proximity to China, South Korea and Japan. Violence and war would potentially cause a million people to flee to China for safety and would upset foreign relations there. Now the world’s largest economy, things in China could grind to a halt in a hurry.

Iran has, of course, been trading arms with North Korea and other unfriendly nations. North Korea has supplied Iran with some long-range missiles capable of delivering a nuclear warhead throughout Europe and to Israel. They want to become the new superpower of the Middle East, which concerns Saudi Arabia, who has been asking the U.S. to bomb Iran’s nuclear facilities, according to Wikileak documents.

Saudi Arabia is upset with the U.S. nonchalant attitude toward the Middle East situation. They are also undergoing a fragile leadership change. Any weapon of mass destruction delivered into their oil fields would paralyze the world economy.

The story in Mexico of which we have been made aware only scratches the surface. We all know about the drug wars and how those battles are crossing our borders. Should one of the cartel leaders seize total control of the country, we could have a formidable enemy and we must understand that Cuba and Venezuela and other nations have been fomenting violence there in order to possibly overthrow the government and turn the country into a neighboring enemy. They already have agents and large organizations within the U.S.

While Iran wants to be the superpower of the Middle East, Hugo Chavez and Venezuela have been concentrating on achieving the same status in South America. Chavez is working diligently toward achieving nuclear power or acquiring a nuke or two. He’s openly catering to Iran, Hezbollah and other groups. Chavez insists that his rapid arms buildup is simply a modernization of outdated military equipment, but intelligence sources think otherwise.

Every day that goes by without U.S. steps to curtail or rein in these activities is another day closer to World War III.

That’s MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.

THE REAL TSA STORY

SPECIAL POST

Perhaps you've been wondering why TSA has been so adamant about their full body scan.  Here is some information that will explain it all to you.

You see, the Administration owes some favors and such to certain people for past help.  So, there are only two companies certified to manufacture and sell the machines to TSA, (1) RapiScan and (2) L-3 Communications.  Now, as it so happens, (just a coincidence I am sure), The Chertoff Group has done extensive work for RapiScan.  Oh and yes, the Chertoff Group is owned by Michael Chertoff who use to be Secretary of Homeland Security over TSA.

If that juicy tidbit has you salivating, L-3 employs as its lobbyist one former FAA official by the name of Linda Daschle, former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle's wife.  To put the frosting on this nice little cake, John Kerry and seven other Members of Congress own a substantial interest in L-3.

Now do you get the picture?

That's MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.

SHERIFF DUPNIK IS IN SAME CATGEORY AS LOUGHNER

SPECIAL POST

The Pima County Sheriff is claiming that Jared Loughner, the murderer in Tucson, blew out of control because of Limbaugh, Hannity, Palin, the Tea Party, you, me and anyone else in this country who stands up and says what he thinks.  He wants us all to shut the hell up.

He's a law enforcement officer.  Law enforcement officers are ticked off to no end because he's making them look bad.  No law enforcement officer in his right mind would pop off like this in the middle of a national tragedy.  Obviously, Dupnik is not in his right mind.  He is the one who is being influenced here, not Loughner; I doubt that Loughner ever heard of Limbaugh, Hannity, Palin, you or me, but Dupnik obviously has.

He's nothing more than a bully in a uniform who would probably beat the crap out of a prisoner if he had the chance.  How's that for vitriol?

He needs to turn in his badge.

That's MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.

WE ARE IN CHARGE HERE

Michael Steele, the chairman of the Republican National Committee, defended his record January 3rd at a forum with four rivals who charged him with mismanagement and said the committee faces a major task of rebuilding its finances and credibility.   Steele claimed that it was he who was responsible for the results of the midterm elections in which Republicans made major gains, including a takeover of the House.

"My record stands for itself," he said. "We won.  I was asked to win elections.  I was asked to raise money - $192 million over the last two years.  We won.  The fact that we're here right now celebrating that win, I think, says a lot about the record."

Here’s another damned politician, a Republican, essentially saying that the people of this country had nothing to do with the election.  It wasn’t about us standing up and demanding accountability and responsibility in Washington, it was about Steele saving the country by getting more Republicans elected?

Let me say it succinctly: Mr. Steele, you didn’t have one damned thing to do with it.  Nancy Pelosi could have been chair of the RNC and the results would have been the same. We’ve had it. We’re sick and tired of the bullshit politics going on in Washington and we’re doing something about it.   And, we’re not running around taking credit for it on a personal basis either; we did it together, firmly standing side by side, and we’re not done yet.  It’s as if the Republicans, who have been almost as much to blame for the idiocracy in Washington as the Democrats have, have suddenly been stricken with sainthood.

Meanwhile, the returning Senate Democrats have joined forces in declaring that they flat-out don’t give a damn what the American people want, they will not allow repeal of Obamacare. We are taking notes about who says what and how they vote and there will be more retribution in November of 2012; you can bank on that. Has everyone in Washington taken leave of their senses? Didn’t they get the real message? It appears that the only ones who did get the message are now on the outside looking in.

Here’s some news that hasn’t been printed: Steven Rattner, who helped lead the Obama administration's auto industry overhaul, has agreed to pay $10 million to settle influence-peddling allegations in New York.  Oh, you didn’t know about that?  The print and media of this country are under the control of the Obama Administration.  The news of the day is being filtered to us and it has been that way for much too long.  Don’t they get the message, either?   Maybe when their bottom lines see red ink they will get the right idea, and several of them are heading there already.

Truly, this is an historical time.  We have massive debt, a health care plan we do not want, an oversized and non-responsive government, an economy that is in the tank, the threat of World War III, declining international stature… and an American populace that is fed up with all of it.

WE are the ones in charge here. This is OUR country.  The sooner they get the message, the better.

That's MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.

HATS OFF TO THE TEA PARTY

SPECIAL POST

The Tea Party deserves credit for bringing Americans together in a united effort to take back America.  Directly through its efforts, millions of Americans became fully aware of what has been happening to our country and they gained the courage to stand up and be heard.

We need to continue this grassroots movement; we cannot sit back down on our couches and let this moment in history pass.  We need to continue the push to clean up Washington and to throw the bums out who are responsible for bringing the country to this moment in time.  I have been asked by the Republican Party to contribute and I have declined.  I cannot put my money into an organization that has failed us too many times.  If they straighten up their act in 2011 and start to perform like patriotic Americans who want the best for our country, I might reconsider my position in January of 2012.

Right now, I'm putting my donations toward the one organization that has proven itself beyond doubt to represent my interests and my beliefs.  We must continue in our quest to restore American patriotic traditions and values.  My money is on the Tea Party Patriots.

MAY GOD BLESS OUR COUNTRY

When you look back at the past year... the past two years, for that matter... how can you sum them up in just a few short sentences?

Janet Napolitano, Secretary of Homeland Security which, is the department in charge of keeping illegal aliens and Mexican drug smugglers out of our country, has been sent to Afghanistan to teach them how to keep illegal aliens and drug smugglers our of their country.  Now, think about that.  If that doesn't sum up everything that has gone wrong with OUR country, what does?

HAPPY NEW YEAR... Let's hope it's better!

ILLEGAL ALIENS ARE ILLEGAL ALIENS

SPECIAL POST

Can you image the audacity of Mexicans who are crossing our borders illegally standing up and demanding that we stop calling them "illegal aliens" or "illegal immigrants?"  This is not a request, it is a demand by the Society of Professional Journalists and others who feel the names are degrading and demeaning to the illegals.

Well folks, if they don't like what we call them, they could sure as hell stay in Mexico and not cross our border illegally.  I've had enough of their coming to our country illegally and then telling us what the terms of their illegal stay are going to be.  They can pack their wetback butts back across the border and stay there, and I hope that those who are here legally will help them pack.

That's MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.

PAT ROBERSTON, THE HYPOCRITE

SPECIAL POST

Pat Robertson, the so-called staid Christian Conservative, has come out in favor of decriminalizing the use of marijuana. His reasoning: sending young offenders off to prisons for the use of marijuana turns the poor souls into hardened criminals.

Well, I’m not going to even debate the use of marijuana here, because that is not the issue. What IS the issue is that he has taken the stance that sentencing a murderer to 40 years in prison should be discontinued because the offender will only come out as a hardened criminal. How can you justify getting rid of the penalty for the commission of a crime on that basis?

It’s this distorted reasoning that is turning this country into a permissive socialistic state without mores and morals. The plain fact of the matter is that if you don’t want to go to jail, don’t commit the crime. If you commit the crime and come out as a hardened criminal, it is YOUR fault, not ours.

It seems to me that, in the same breath, this man of the cloth would tell you not to violate any of the Ten Commandments but, if you do, there should be no punishment attached. Or, is he simply saying that we should just toss the Ten Commandments all out because enforcing them is only going to cause misery anyway? Where in God’s infinite wisdom does that line of thinking come from?

Now, as for the legalization issue, I have seen lives ruined by the use of marijuana. But, I am open to being convinced that what I saw was a figment of my imagination. My mind is not closed on the issue, but it almost is. So, for me that is another argument for another day.

Now that he has displayed this line of reasoning, I can say beyond a doubt that I sure as hell am glad he never became President.

That's MY AMERICAN OPINION, the last one of the year, respectfully submitted.

OST SHUTS DOWN MORE BLOGS AND WEBSITES

SPECIAL POST

The Obama Storm Troopers have summarily shut down more blogs and websites, ostensibly for the illegal use or sale of copyrighted materials.  Now, I've said it before and I'll say it again: if they are violating the law, they should be shut down... legally.

Yes, there is a legal process in the country.  You give notice of the alleged violation and the opportunity to cease and desist or explain yourself.  If that doesn't work, you go to a Court and get a Court Order to shut the site down, so you have judicial review.  Then, the site owner can fight it in Court and it will be decided upon its merits.

This is the third time I am aware of where the feds have simply summarily shut down webs and blogs without notice, without judicial review and without the opportunity for the accused offenders to have any kind of hearing whatsoever.

Why isn't the media investigating and reporting these "storm trooper" activities?  Can they close THIS blog down because they don't like hearing the truth?

That's MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.

HOLDER LEFT HOLDING THE BAG

SPECIAL POST

Julian Assange or Assang, has proven himself to be as elusive as the spelling of his last name.  The Wikileaks owner/operator who admitedly has been spilling America;s nation security beans, has been holed up for about a week in a British prison on an arrest warrant from Sweden for an alleged sex crime.

The Brits have decided to let Assange out on bail.  As of the time of this post, Sweden has about an hour left to appeal and there is the possibility he may not get out of the can right now.

So, now comes the question.  Since our illustrious Attorney General hasn't had to devote his energies to finding Assange for the past week, why hasn't he at least put together enough of a case to bring some charges against Assange in order to influence the Brits to keep him behind bars?

Once again, one of Obama's top echelon has proven themselves to be beyond incompetent.

That's MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.

WHITE HOUSE MAGIC

You’ve got to hand it to Obama; he’s a skillful magician. He can make bad news disappear in a heartbeat. In recent weeks for example, think about the horrible news from the November elections. Obama got onto his 747 and flitted off into the sunset and the news media immediately focused on his trip; the bad election news got very much downplayed. Then there was North Korea attacking South Korea right after South Korea snubbed Obama’s trade agreement. That piece of bad news got relegated to the third page of the comic section.

Wikileaks came along and the North Korean situation disappeared. Wikileaks was making Obama’s national security look like a slew of kids playing in a sandbox, so Obama made a tax deal and…poof! Wikileaks was gone! More recently, he invited Clinton over for a White House beer and now the tax cut dilemma is exiting to stage left. The right wing media had to ask if Obama was so weak that he needed to lean on Clinton to rescue him and…. It looks like the subject of the New York mosque is about to change the subject yet again!

But, all of these magic tricks are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the Obama prowess. Have you noticed that he’s back to having more face time on TV than Leno and Lettermen combined? As matter of fact, we’ve gotten so used to his mug on TV that he has actually become part of the average American household, like the family dog…. Or the boar, if you live out west.

Let’s face it. This guy is so vain and so egotistical that someone mentioned he looks like a bimbo with a cigarette in his mouth and he quit after smoking after 40 years of the habit.

In fact, when you examine the Obama psyche, you hit a brick wall. Nobody can figure out who he really is. That’s because he’s got more sides to him than the pentagon. And, of course, there are his tricks. I used to say that Clinton had more tricks up his sleeve than Houdini, but Clinton doesn’t hold a candle to Obama. The only problem is that Obama is clumsy; he can’t pull off a trick without showing his dirty underwear.

That’s MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.

OUTRAGEOUS WHITE HOUSE WAIVERS

SPECIAL POST

We are now learning about one of the sneakiest, dirtiest rotten tricks that any White House Administration has ever, ever laid on the American people.

Word is finally wafting out of the Pennsylvania Avenue sewer house that they are granting waivers to many major companies and the unions regarding the new Obamacare Health Plan.  That is, those with waivers do not have to comply with the mandates.

Small business owners, individuals, and those without the right "clout" at the Oval Office are still stuck with the plan, which means that costs per person will escalate.  MacDonalds is one of several major national companies exempt from complying; they asked for the waiver because they would otherwise have to lay off 30,000 employees.  They got their waiver, while Mr. and Mrs. America who run a small hamburger joint down the street did not and will have to close.

What's worse, these waivers are being granted for the purpose of eroding public opposition to the plan; Obama told all of his Czars to keep their lips shut about the waivers.  Of course, big secrets like this always leak out.

We should be outraged and we should demand an explanation for this outright bullshit that has been so unceremoniously dumped on the American public.  And, Merry Christmas to you, too, Mr. President, you sneaky pariah.

A HOLIDAY SALUTE FOR OUR MILITARY

There is so very much crappy news floating about as we head into the end of the year. Wikileaks. Taxes. Debt Commission. Foreign bank and business bailouts in the trillions of dollars. George Soros. FTC takeover of Internet when Congress voted it down. Immigration and border drug battles. North Korea, Iran, Afghanistan and Iraq. Super X-Rays and pat downs. U.S. taxpayer money being used to fund the Muslim mosque at the World Trade Center. Rising jobless claims. Housing foreclosures.

Where does it all end? When do we get ticked off enough that we literally march on Washington and throw the bums out? Where do I start?

Well, I’m going to start by setting all of those sources of anger aside and talking about a matter of utmost urgency.

It’s been eight years since we sent our young men and women overseas. When we ran out of regular servicemen and women, we called up the active reservists and sent them overseas disrupting their lives, their incomes, their families and their futures. Most of them have served more than one tour of overseas duty. We have not only devastated their standards of living, we have also put them in harm’s way, and thousands of them have come home injured while a few thousand more have come home in caskets.

For their part, the military men, women and families have largely been treated by the country like floating curds in a Christmas punch bowl. The left treats them like war criminals. Congress wants to cut or freeze their pay. Obama wants them to pay for their own medical care. If stationed overseas, they are not able to vote in national elections. We shun them when we see them in an airport or on the street.

How this nation can turn their backs on our military families in such a cavalier way, I will never know.

In this season of family, of giving and sharing, let us not be part of these injustices. Let us seek out military families living in our communities and invite them to dinner. Would it not be great if every community held a community-wide event and threw a party for them? At the very least, send a greeting card, but a $25 or $50 gift card to Wal-Mart or Target is not a bad idea, either.

I ask you to set aside the problems of the nation for just a moment, long enough to let our military men and women and their families know that we do care.

That’s MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.

HOW DENSE CAN THEY BE?

SPECIAL POST

The failure of the Senate to pass legislation stopping earmarks, and the fact that several Republicans voted against the proposal, is prima facie evidence that the bastards have not learned their lesson. I’m sorry to put it that way, but that’s just how I feel.

I don’t think we’re going to get rid of the damned Health Care Plan and we’re going to end up with higher taxes while the sons-of-bitches keep right on spending. It seems that things are adding up that way.

It’s looking more and more as if we’ll have to have a million-citizen march on Washington to get in their faces.

That’s MY AMERICAN OPINION, angrily submitted.

IS BUSH REALLY A PATRIOT?

George W. Bush has been out and about, touting his new book that is supposed to give insight as to what a President faces and the decisions that he makes. I am not going to take issue with or discuss the merits of that book, but I do have a problem with something he said on the O’Reilly “Factor” show on Fox. The essence of his remark was that he has no intention of involving himself with the business of the country any longer because he has done… completed his service to his country.

Maybe that is what, in my mind, will be the principle reason why he will never be considered to be a great President and may well eventually end up in the lower one-third of his class. In going where I’m going, I am in no way subscribing to the Al Gore or John Kerry theories about how to run the country. Putting Bush up against either of these jerks would still be a “no brainer” for me; I’d vote against Gore or Kerry, but not necessarily for Bush.

Understand that both sides of my family go back to the 1600’s as far as being residents of this continent. So, my issue is naturally this: Just when does your duty to our country end? Is it after you serve in the military? Is it after you retire as a civil servant? Is it after you serve eight years as President? Or, is it after your patriotic fanny lands in a cemetery?

I recently read a pro/con opinion in the November 2010 issue of U.S. NEWS & WORLD REPORT. The gist of the question posed was whether or not Americans should serve their country in some manner. The arguments were along the lines of yes, and it should be required versus yes, and it should be voluntary.

Well, is this your country or not? How far are you willing to go to defend your country and your way of life? Should defending your country be mandatory, or should you be able to skate, (let somebody else do the heavy lifting so you can reap the benefits)?

I am flatly amazed at the number of military personnel who lose limbs, eyesight, hearing and so forth, who want so desperately to continue on in the service of their country. When you talk to a Viet Nam vet, one of those gray-haired old geezers who got so badly mistreated by our country for doing their job, every one of them to the last man will tell you that they will not hesitate to stand up and fight for their country today or tomorrow. Some are crippled, old, feeble…. Yet willing to fill in for an able-bodied man or woman in a desk job so that person can in turn go fight.

Countless Americans have dedicated their lives to the betterment of their country and I’m not just talking about paid civil servants. People have served on community advisory boards, they have served in lower-level elected or appointed positions, they have volunteered with different agencies or organizations and they have given, given and given to support America and its citizens.

Given my heritage, I don’t know how any man or woman can say that they have given enough to their country. Bush is a young man and still can give plenty to his country. If the enemy came knocking at his doorstep, how far would he get by saying that he was retired from being an American; he’s done his job? He’s contributed all he needs to contribute?

Somehow, this attitude implies to me that our duty to country has prescribed limits beyond which we do not need to venture. Well, I’m sorry, but I simply must disagree. Our duty to country begins the day we are born and it doesn’t end until the grim reaper wins the day. The failure of a large portion of our country to recognize this fact and to abide by its rule is the very reason we are in the trouble we are in today. Had we been vigilant as Americans, had we always been willing to stand up for what is right and to condemn what is wrong, we would not be in the moral, ethical and economical quagmire in which we find ourselves today.

We need to gather our strengths and seek out the compass of continuous and passionate service to country so that we can, indeed, take it back. We must not rest or retire from our obligation to ourselves and our children to always, every minute of every day, be American.

Sorry, George. You’re a cop-out.

That's MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.

NORTH KOREA ATTACK

SPECIAL POST
North Korea attacked South Korea.

South Korea is an ally of the United States.

There once was a time when no country would think of attacking an ally of the United States.

What happened, Barack?

HODGE PODGE OF MALARKY

Where do I start? Do I dwell on the pervert TSA agents who are getting paid to grope, fondle and feel-up the traveling public and who are going to be unionized at the behest of the President so we’ll have a hard time firing them? Do I talk about the Bush tax cuts or the immigration problem? I could spend two posts talking about the continued arrogance of the “political elite” in Washington who have yet to come to grips with the fact that we Americans don’t like them.

Maybe that last sentence gives me a lead into what I really want to discuss. The plain fact is that Congress has declared itself to be above and beyond the law and ethics and they have not changed their ways. To start off with, the Democrats elected Pelosi to lead their House members again, thereby totally endorsing every damned thing she did to us in the last two years, from health care to stimulus and everything in between. This was a big vote and she had a substantial number of new Democrats voting for her, Democrats who lied to their constituents when running in 2010 by distancing themselves from her and the unpopular legislations she championed.

Shame on them. Out they go in 2012. Keep track of their names.

The real story about the House of Representatives is the Charlie Rangel story. This guy falsified his income tax returns. He used political power for his own personal gain and benefit. He lied under oath. Not only did he do these things, but he did them over and over again. He thumbed his nose at the system in place to deal with people like him. His peers found him guilty and then didn’t even give him a slap on the wrist.  Good God, Wesley Snipes just got three years in the can for his tax problems! How can you justify sending Wesley to the can and letting Charlie off?

In doing so, his peers told Americans like you and me that we deserve to go to jail for the things Rangel did, but Rangel gets off because he is a Member of Congress and a friend of Pelosi. And, their actions flaunted the law that they swear to uphold when they take office. In short, our government has evolved into a dictatorial body that considers itself to be immune from any prosecution. Certainly, they have just proven themselves to be unwilling to accept an overwhelming public order issued on November 2nd to cut this crap out.

I’m beginning to think that we are going to have to make every single member of Congress subject to recall by the voters. It’s not a good or effective way to run a government, but how else are we going to hold these people accountable for their actions? One thing is certain: 2010 did not get the job done. We made substantial progress, but we are going to have to repeat ourselves in 2012. At least we are all awakened now to what we are facing in Washington and we have two years to study the situation and size up who we are going to get rid of in 2012 well ahead of the game.

In closing, let me say this about Murkowski. She won her seat with less than a majority vote in the state. Yes, she beat Miller, but she did not have 50.1% of the vote; she had somewhere in the 38% range, which means that 62% of the Alaskans did not vote for her or voted against her. How can she possibly justify running around telling people how much the Alaskans really need and support her?

Something has to change. Things in our American political system are not right.

That’s MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.

OBAMA MAKES A HUGE BOO BOO

SPECIAL POST

It was negotiated and all but signed, sealed and delivered before Obama even got onto Air Force One; a huge trade deal with South Korea that would create some 90,000 jobs in the United States was to be a major accomplishment of Obama's recent trip abroad.  Unfortunately, he came back empty handed.

How can that be?  What happened?

I have said many times before that Obama is extremely self-centered and very, very arrogant.  As it turns out, the negotiations have been going on for years and it was a delicate dance to the end.  When South Korea finally agreed to the treaty's terms, that was indeed a major breakthrough.

But, while flying to Asia, Obama decided that he wanted more.  In fact, he decided that he wanted specific terms to protect American union workers written into the treaty.  And, as I understand it, he tried to sneak the language in without so much as a tidbit of discussion before the deal was to be signed.  When the South Koreans discovered this attempt, they were rightfully furious.  Obama tried to give it a shrug and a bow, but he almost had to back himself onto Air Force One and get the hell out of town before he got a real shellacking.

My God, doesn't he have class?  Such charisma!  (I don't know for certain, but I hear that even Hugo Chavez has asked for his book back.....)

HOW TO FIX SOCIAL SECURITY

Let me start off by saying that I have a difficult time watching an uncontrolled Congress eat away at my income and my lifestyle every day while they spend, spend and spend. The fact that they are discussing raising the retirement age, increasing contributions and curtailing cost of living adjustments is an open and shut admission that they feel they have the unchallenged right to spend my every last dime. Mind you, they day will come when we can no longer work enough hours in the day to support their lavish spending habits and we will then all become puppets of the state.

The conversation inevitable turns to the shabby shape that Social Security is in and the need to either get rid of it or to modify it drastically. To me, that is simply more political rhetoric designed to get around the issue at our expense. Social Security can be fixed easily and simply. Here’s how:

  1. The government pays back to Social Security every last nickel it has borrowed or stolen over the decades; in the future, no one can latch on to those funds.
  2. A commission is named to head the Social Security Program consisting of three members of the Senate and three from the House, of which at least two of the six must be Republican and two Democrat. In addition, the commission includes the head of Social Security and six members of the public who do not hold any government positions. They choose their own chairperson from among themselves. Terms are three year terms.
  3. No one who is drawing Social Security today has any changes whatsoever to their benefits or adjustments.
  4. The commission oversees the operations and policy-making of the department and makes legislative recommendations to the Congress. The commission may invest any excess funds on hand in high-end stocks, bonds and funds in which various government agencies are now allowed to invest.
  5. Individuals are allowed to withdraw earned benefits prior to retirement and invest them in IRA’s or similar retirement schemes providing they cannot have access to the funds until they retire.
  6. Ten percent of all money legislated for pork or earmarks will be paid into the social security fund until it is fully solvent.

Now, #1 and #6 will surely doom this idea from the get go because there’s not one single member of Congress with the family jewels to comply. And, of course, Congress will never put itself into a position where it cannot steal money from Social Security. If you think this is a joke, wait ten years and see what has happened to the federal funds that are supposed to be spent on the new Health Care programs.

That’s MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.

SOON: MONEY, MONEY EVERYWHERE!

SPECIAL POST

Ben Bernanke has issued the orders to the Treasury to print hundreds of billions of additional American dollars. My God, we’re all going to be rich! I don’t know why no one has thought of this before!

Just think, you could be making two or three times as much money as you are today. Of course, those who are on a fixed income will still be making the same, but the rest of us lucky bastards could be making six…even seven…figure incomes in a very short period of time. Isn’t this just ducky? That $5,000 credit card balance can be covered in one paycheck! Hell, we can pay the $250,000 mortgage in a year! Yes, yes, yes!

To hell with the poor folks on fixed incomes, social security, welfare or extremely low incomes. Yeah, I feel sorry for them, but I’ll get mine! Yes, I want to buy that new Mercedes on the showroom floor. Huh? ONE MILLION DOLLARS?!!! YOU’VE GOT TO BE OUT OF YOUR TREE!

$5.00 for a loaf of bread? $5.00 for a beer? $5.00 for a glass of milk? $10.00 for a gallon of gas?

What if you are on the other side of this equation? Suppose you’re the mortgage holder who loaned you the $250,000 for your house and now that $250,000 is worth, in terms of current money, only $75,000? How much leniency is he going to give you if you miss a payment? For that matter, how much leniency is China going to give us if we miss a payment?

Obama says he wants to help the poor. There’s no help here for the poor; if you can manage to scrape by with $15,000 a year, how can you survive when your basic living expenses triple?

This sham is one great big lie, and it has to be stopped. People without money, as most of the country is today, are going to get screwed big time.

That’s MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.

THE TEA PARTIES: What’s Next?

America’s Tea Parties have come out of nowhere and in less than two years have become a strong and viable political force. Their influences over this last election were, to say the least, profound.

Now, what’s next? Will the Tea Parties wither up and die on the vine?

Frankly, I hope not. There were other political forces out there at play as well and they were somewhat more sinister and hell bent on having their ways, regardless of what the laws or the commands of ethics say. The unions, for example, were shameless in their bribes and outright coercion used to secure votes for their favorite candidates. When the dust settles, I will not be surprised if it is revealed that the remnants of ACORN were also at play.

There were substantial gains made. Unfortunately, the Tea Parties got too close to the Republicans in some parts of the country. In the days after the election, I already have to wonder if the Republicans have learned the real lessons of what this election was all about; only the coming days and weeks will tell that story. One thing is certain: Obama and his far-left-wing cohorts are not going to lie down and work with the Republicans; they may say so publicly, but watch what they actually do.

While significant progress was made in cleaning house, much remains to be done. It will really take another house cleaning in 2012 to have the full and desired effect. And, it is too early to see how the 2012 Presidential race is going to shape up. We could end up with two candidates equally unfit for the office, as has been the case for 22 years.

Could the Tea Parties coalesce into a genuine political party and field their own candidates in 2012? In recent decades, third parties have been totally unsuccessful in their bids to become viable political forces. This time, however, things are different. Voters see the differences between the Democrats and the Republicans as being very blurred, almost as if they are the same party. It should be remembered that, historically, the Republican Party and the Democrat party were in fact one and the same.

Should the Republicans once again fail, as they have so profoundly failed in recent years, then the real need for a new party emerges. The Tea Parties have made their mark as a political force, and they need to seriously consider whether or not they will now coalesce into a full-fledged political party. Frankly, I would welcome the move; we need to demonstrate to Congress that we are not just frustrated Americans who do not know what we are doing. We are well aware of what is going on and we want our own brand of "change."

That’s MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.

WELL DONE, AMERICA

SPECIAL POST

Americans stood up yesterday and let Washington know that it is not happy.  Incumbents got tossed out left and right.

Oh, there were some disappointments.  Harry Reid, Barbara Boxer and Barney Frankfarter are three that come to mind.  One could lament that the Republicans didn't take the Senate, but that is not what the race was all about.  The race was about getting fresh faces in Washington, Republican or Democrat, shaking up the establishment and getting rid of the "culture" of corruption and greed that has been ruling the day for far too long.

Americans did that.  Anyone in politics who doesn't get the message is in for a rude awakening.  We, the people, are just beginning.  2012 is just around the  corner.  The sleeping giant is awake.

That's MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.
