THE KANSAS FELON WITH A GUN

Barack Obama and his Washington henchmen were quick to holler about gun control after Cedric Ford went on a shooting rampage in Hesston, Kansas last Thursday.  They want to pile on more laws.  

Well, this case exemplifies what we gun owners have been saying for years now: more laws will only hurt the legal, honest gun-toting citizen; they won't do anything to stop the criminal or the terrorist.  In fact, such laws, if obeyed, may leave us defenseless. 

If laws work so well in controlling gun violence, why did Ford, a convicted felon barred from even putting his hands on a gun... why was he carrying an assault-style rifle and a pistol when the law says he can't?  Shouldn't they be charging the cops for dereliction of duty, because they didn't keep Ford from having guns?  

Get real.  

The fact is, the whole disaster could have been prevented if someone with a concealed weapon and permit had been around when the first shots were fired by Ford.  In fact, in August of 2015, the Kansas Governor signed a new law that allows Kansans who have gone through training to carry a concealed weapon without a permit!  

But, I assert that all of the current and potential gun-control laws in the country would not have prevented Ford from getting his guns or from going on a killing spree.  All such laws do is get in the way of the 99.9% of those of us who have owned and carried guns for years without harming so much as a flea.

CONGRESS MUST BE REPLACED

We all know that Obama has consistently violated provisions of the Constitution, that he has refused to abide by the law with respect to his Executive Orders, that he has told numerous lies to Congress and to the American people and that his actions have bordered upon, (if not crossing), the line of treason.  

These are actions which our Congress could have and should have resolved; the Constitution provides for separation of powers and for methods to prevent abrogation of that separation.  Yet, Congress did nothing.  Oh, they filed a lame lawsuit here and there, they held numerous hearings that led nowhere, they screamed bloody murder... but, they did nothing.  

Both Houses of Congress and both political parties have been complicit in all of Obama's maneuvers.  If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem.  

Members of Congress have lost touch with the reality that this is a government of the people, by the people and for the people.  In doing so, they have trampled upon our rights, refused to respond to our concerns and, to be sure, treated us like dirt beneath their collective feet.  

Since they have not been part of the solution, we must be the solution.  We must seize back the power of government that Constitutionally belongs in our hands.  

The current culture of malfeasance and misfeasance that exists in Congress must come to an end.  Every Member of Congress who has served more than one term needs to be replaced in November.

REPEAL 17TH AMENDMENT?

Back in the day when wise men prevailed in this country, United States Senators were selected by their individual state senates, but the 17rh Amendment to the U.S. Constitution changed all of that and provided for selection by direct election from the citizens.  Under the old system, Senators were obliged to abide by the wishes of their state senates and this system therefore provided for direct representation of individual states in Congressional lawmaking.  

The new Amendment, however, allowed the Senators to roam freely and become obliged to those who funded their campaigns, thereby disenfranchising states from having their intended representation in Washington.  

The State of Utah wants to change all of that.  It has voted to ask Congress to repeal the 17th Amendment.    

This sounds to me like a brilliant idea.  Let's go for it.

ENOUGH WITH THE DAMNED ILLEGALS!!!

I've had it up to here with the damned illegals and the bleeding-heart liberals who insist on spending my money to give them free this or free that, as well as their collective audacity to tell me I'd better damned-well get used to it and keep my mouth shut.   I'm ticked off that our president keeps our southern border wide open and that our Border Patrol and ICE are being constrained by the White House and prevented from enforcing  existing law... while we sit idly by and allow it to happen.   

Now, new legislation is being pushed that would give illegal aliens the right to vote in New York City’s 2017 elections for mayor, comptroller, public advocate, borough president and City Council. The left-wing socialist liberals of the country are actively trying to allow illegals to vote in our national elections, while they evidently see no harm in maneuvers to keep our active-duty military members from casting a ballot.   

Don't waste your breath trying to convince me that illegals have any rights here.  Go try and convince Kate Steinle's parents.

OBAMA DEFIES THE LAW, WILL CLOSE GUANTANAMO

Obama has announced he is closing Guantanamo, releasing some more terrorists and transferring the rest to U.S. prisons, and he doesn't care that the law prevents him from doing so.  That sets the stage, as I have been saying for months, that part of Obama's plan includes giving all of the Guantanamo facilities back to Cuba, thereby permanently preventing any new president from reversing his illegal move.  

You could even tell by his demeanor, especially toward the end of his announcement, that he knows what he is doing is wrong and against the wishes of the American people.

This also leaves us without an important and strategic military base.  

Although he did say, as he has often said before issuing an illegal Executive Order, that he wants and expects Congress to support his action,you and I both know that, illegal or not, Congress will not stand up to him unless they are forced to by Americans.  This issue is severely important to our national security and our war against terrorism. Just like Obama's plan to name a liberal to the Supreme Court, this move must be stopped.  

Please vent your outrage to your Congressional delegates immediately.

SUPER DELEGATES: A SHAMEFUL ELECTION SHAM

Wikipedia describes a "super delegate" as follows:  "In United States politics, a "superdelegate" is a delegate to the Democratic National Convention or Republican National Convention that is seated automatically and chooses who they want to vote for.  DNC super delegates include distinguished party leaders and elected officials, including all Democratic members of the House and Senate and sitting Democratic governors."  Other delegates are selected through individual state primaries and caucuses.  In 2016, the DNC has a total of 712 delegates; 264 were up for grabs at the beginning of the process, 431 were saying they were committed to Hillary Clinton.  

This means that, even if Sanders ends up with 75% of the popular Democrat vote, Hillary would still have the nomination.  I always thought this was a country where the "one man, one vote" rule applied.  The DNC is quick to say that if a candidate got a substantial majority of the popular vote, the super delegates would "most likely" change their votes... but it is not required.  

This structure not only puts control of the Democrat nomination in control of the establishment Senators and Congressmen,  but it also disenfranchises members of the party from the right to a vote in the process.  

The way the establishment Republican hierarchy runs roughshod over party members is bad enough but, leave it to the Democrats to rig their system to the point that members are simply pawns in what has become a very ugly game.

SHE'S OUT OF HER TREE

Veteran Nevada civil rights leader Dolores Huerta, an avid supporter of presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, is accusing Bernie Sanders campaign staffers of preventing her from providing Spanish-language translation to voters who needed it at a Las Vegas caucus location during Saturday’s Democratic primary.  She argues that not everyone speaks English and they have a right to know what is going on.  

Well, if you go to Mexico and you don't speak Spanish, you either learn how to speak it or you get used to a diet of chili and tacos.  

No person who is not a citizen of this country has any right whatsoever to be participating in the election processes.  And people should be required to pass a basic English language test before they can obtain citizenship.  In fact, you must: 

• Be eligible
• Complete the application
• Pass an interview regarding your knowledge of civics and English
• Pledge allegiance to the United States
• Understand rights and responsibilities of citizenship

Then, and only then, should you be permitted to vote.  Of  course, you should also learn about the candidates, what they stand for and what their qualifications are.    

Oh, and by the way... everyone should be required to present a photo I.D. at the polls.

IS JEB BUSH TAKING AN UGLY CRUZ HIT?

Word started to circulate Thursday that the Jeb Bush campaign operation was out of money and would quit paying staff today.  Coming just two days before the South Carolina primaries, one has to wonder whether or not this is another despicable Cruz political hit, akin to his claim that Dr.Ben Carson was dropping out of contention on the very eve of the Iowa Caucuses.  The Cruz campaign is now also circulating posters allegedly showing Rubio enthusiastically shaking hands with Barack Obama, an event which never occurred; the picture has been photo-shopped, placing Rubio's head atop someone else's body.  

The Bush campaign is vigorously denying its financial condition.  The Cruz campaign laid the Carson story on a "misunderstanding," and is shrugging off Rubio's outrage over the posters.  

One has to ask: If Cruz will resort to this type of activity in order to win the presidency, what tactics will he employ against the country in order to retain the presidency?  Do we really want four or more years of Obama-style bullshit, or do we want someone who exudes strong American values and ethics in that job... someone we can place our faith and trust in to do what is right and what in the best interests of the country?

CHINA'S MISSILES AND OBAMA'S RESPONSE

News came out Tuesday and Wednesday that China is loading up its artificial islands in the South China Sea with surface-to-air missiles, in clear violation of a pledge that no weapons would be introduced to this islands.  China is seeking to exert total control over almost all of the South China Sea.  

Prior presidents from both parties have made it clear to China that any such move would have serious consequences.  So, how has Obama dealt with the issue?  He's announced he's going to go visit the Castro brothers in Cuba.  

Two-bits says he's going to give Gitmo back to Cuba and close the prison there.  

What a guy.  He's just so, so cool.

OBAMA FLUNKS CUBA 101

Obama's much ballyhooed association with Cuba is proving to be a thorn in his side somewhat akin to his Iranian nuclear "deal."  Since he recognized Cuba and dropped sanctions against it, the number of political arrests there have sharply increased and some 43,000 Cubans have managed to cross the Mexican border into the U.S.  Our agricultural sales to Cuba have gone down, Cubans' access to the Internet has become almost non-existent, Cuba has continued to give save harbor to terrorists, and the Castro regime has seized more independent businesses.  

In other words, all of the good Obama promised would happen... has not.  In fact, the reverse is true. 

But, that's not the end of it.  Ibrahim Al Qosi has emerged as a prominent voice of Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, appearing in a number of AQAP propaganda videos.  Al Qosi was released from Gitmo by Obama in 2012.  

I guess we should have expected all of this bad news.  After all, Obama's chief claim to fame is that of being a community organizer in Chicago, a city now known as the murder capital of the country.

THE UNFIT AMERICANS

The Republican Party establishment has proven itself unfit to be called "American."  They are doing everything they can to subvert the will of the people and to install the presidential candidate of their choice... their choice... not ours.    

They are spending millions in anti-Trump ads.  They are salting debate audiences with "establishment" devotees.  They are filling the media, the newspapers and the Internet with anti-Trump propaganda.  Rubio, Kasich and Bush totally represent the establishment. 

They are the enemy of what we are trying to accomplish here, to return control of government back to the people.  Trump has every right to call them and their co-conspirators out.

SCALIA REPLACEMENT: PREPARE FOR THE FIGHT OF THE DECADE

Barack Hussein Obama never flinched when informed while on the golf course that Justice Scalia had died.  But, he made it abundantly clear shortly after he completed his round that he fully intended to name a replacement of his choice for the job and that Congress had better damned-well confirm that appointment.  

Why?  

Obama has made his displeasure with the Court known on numerous occasions.  The nine-member Court was equally divided between liberals and conservatives, with Justice Kennedy often being the determining "swing"vote.  Scalia was a notorious conservative Constitutional constructionist who believed that the founding document must either be followed as it was written and originally intended, or that it had to be amended.  Obama will definitely do everything within his power to appoint a Judge who has a history of liberal activism.  And if that happens, my friend, you can kiss your Bibles and your guns goodbye. 

We know how lamely the Republicans have stood up to Obama's demands in the past.  The Senate is the body to confirm Obama's appointment.  We must be prepared to dig in our heels and demand that the Senate vote down any liberal appointment to the bench proffered by Obama.  We must also make it known that any Senator who votes to approve such an appointment will be replaced.  

There has never been a more urgent issue requiring our individual attention as citizens to occur in this country in my lifetime.

OBAMA KEEPS SENDING OUR JOBS TO MEXICO

Carrier Air Conditioning, part of United Technologies, has become the latest in a growing list of U.S. companies moving their production facilities out of the country.  

The Economic Policy Institute has documented that “Between 1993 (before NAFTA took effect) and 2013, the U.S. trade deficit with Mexico and Canada increased from $17.0 billion to $177.2 billion, displacing more than 850,000 U.S. jobs.  More than 5 million U.S. manufacturing jobs were lost between 1997 and 2014, and most of those job losses were due to growing trade deficits with countries that have negotiated trade and investment deals with the United States,” the report states. 

Higher wages, the impact of ObamaCare, vastly increased business regulations under the Obama Administration, and high corporate taxes have combined to force American businesses to ship jobs overseas in order to remain competitive in the U.S. market.  

The greatest national economy in the world is sinking into oblivion under the weight of its own stupidity.

FOX NEWS CROSSES THE LINE

Journalism in this country has traditionally been given a wide berth when it comes to investigating and reporting; in return, it has has agreed to report the facts honestly, that American citizens can reach informed decisions about current events.  The media and press have even been allowed to express their open opinions of current events, but it has been a"code of  ethics" that opinions be confined to segments of reporting clearly labeled as "opinions."  

Unfortunately, those in the seats of power of the press have slowly eroded their responsibilities, first by injecting their opinions into their actual "investigating and reporting," and then by crossing the line into shaping their reports such as to actually become the makers of news themselves.  That's how you get a MSNBC, CNN or NBC who openly and flagrantly take political stands and shape their "news" accordingly.  

Up until recently, FOX NEWS was truly one of the only "fair and balanced" news organizations in the country.  Now, they have crossed that line and joined the rest of the national media in trying to shape American opinion to their way of thinking and to insert their own corporate objectives into politics.  They did it in the Donald Trump vs. Megyn Kelly blowup and they did it again by putting all of their marbles into the Rubio campaign.   

In doing so, FOX has betrayed the millions of Americans who put their faith and trust into that network.  They besmirched their "fair and balanced" mission statement and they have done a grave disservice to the country.  

Thank God for NEWSMAX and BREITBART.COM.  Here's hoping FOX NEWS pays the ultimate penalty with declining viewership and ratings.

CONGRESS: TOSS OUT THE INCUMBENTS

The rout has begun.  Voters made it clear in New Hampshire that they are more than sick and tired of the same old Washington bull.  But, let's face it: when it comes to the presidency, that guy can't get anything accomplished without the support and cooperation he needs from Congress.  

As it stands right now, and has been standing for years, the "establishment" is going to fight an outsider president tooth and nail.   The only way to solve this problem is to vote "the establishment" out in November; that means every incumbent who has been in office for more than one term must go.  

The way I see it, there are no other options.  Otherwise, a new president is only going to get mired down in the same old, prevalent Washington bull and he'll be totally neutered.

NEW HAMPSHIRE SURPRISES

In the GOP race, everyone expected Trump to win and that he did.  The polls also had Rubio in second, but Kasich snatched that spot over the last few days, while Jeb Bush made a surprising run at third place.  In the donkey race, Bernie Sanders gave Hillary Clinton a real shellacking, not that she doesn't deserve it.  

I would guess that both establishments, GOP and Democrat, are having a real hissy-fit.  In the meanwhile, the specter of an independent run by Michael Bloomerberg looms larger. 

What a year!

ADMINISTRATION COVERS FOR JIHADISTS

NEWSMAX.COM is reporting "A veteran official with the Department of Homeland Security claims he and other staff were ordered to destroy records on a federal database that showed links between possible jihadists and Islamic terrorist groups."  Patrick Haney alleges that the Obama administration has been "engaged in a bureaucratic effort" to destroy the raw material and intelligence the Department of Homeland Security has been collecting for years, leaving the United States vulnerable to mass-casualty attacks.

And you still think Obama is a Christian?

LATEST DEBATES WERE REVEALING

I was too busy Sunday, digesting what had happened at the Republican debates on Saturday, to watch the Super Bowl.  

I thought that, for the first time, Trump appeared almost "presidential."  He still couldn't resist coming out with a few nasty jabs, but they were few and far between, and in between he came off as being the commander-in-chief that we need.  

Now, to be fair about it, I thought Bush came off extremely well, also.  But, I think his addition of his mom and brother to his campaign took some of the shine off of that appearance; it's almost like the schoolyard tad who gets into a brawl with someone and runs home to plead with mommy and daddy to come to his rescue.  I'm sorry; I didn't think all that much of him going into the weekend and I thought less of him coming out of it, but I'll nevertheless score him high marks on the debate.  

The debates started with a not-so-fancy do-see-do just off-stage, where the candidates and the moderators lost communication with each other and a mix-up occurred as they eventually appeared on stage.  All of the sudden, the moderators looked up from their scripts and realized that only half of the contestants had made it to their podiums.  It was good for laughs, however.  

Cruz and Rubio made total fools of themselves, constantly using their allotted times to avoid answering the questions.  Rubio took the brunt of it, launching into the same, canned , rehearsed talking points... word for word... three times when Christie and the moderators put his feet to the fire. Frankly, they both came off as being nothing better than "the establishment," with their spins and maneuvers.  

Both Christie and Carson did fairly well, I think, at least holding their own or even doing a bit better than that.  Kasich, try as he might, is almost an afterthought; he's still much too busy reiterating what he did in Ohio

In terms of the debate, I'd rate Trump first, Bush second, with Carson and Christie tied for third.   

In closing, I will have to say that I thought ABC did a much more professional job of hosting the debates than anyone else so far.  Unlike FOX and MSNBC, they did not appear to me to be wearing  any of their own political agendas on their sleeves.

YES, AMERICA IS VULNERABLE

We all know that our defense capabilities have been greatly diminished under the Obama regime.  We have many enemies who are not reluctant about telling us, directly or indirectly, that we are in their crosshairs.  

For example, North Korea makes no bones about wanting to send an atomic missile in our direction.  Obama and his regime would have us believe that everything is hunky dory and not to worry about it.  But, North Korea is preparing to launch a satellite capable of detonating a nuclear weapon more than 100 miles over the United States, which could create an electromagnetic pulse that would easily destroy America’s electrical grid system, according to a former director of the U.S. Strategic Defense Initiative. 

Such a disastrous event would leave us without access to fuel for our vehicles, heat, access to our bank accounts... on and on... for weeks or even months.  

We cannot ignore this threat.

SHKRELI: UP YOURS, CONGRESS

"UP YOURS" seems to be infecting the whole country, (See WE'RE NOT TO BLAME and BURNEY MOUNTAIN HERMIT).  

A former pharmaceutical company CEO who generated national outrage when he jacked up the prices on life-saving medications appeared before a Congressional Committee Thursday, invoking his Fifth Amendment rights and rolling his eyes, as one congressman asked if he was “even paying attention.” After leaving the hearing, he headed straight to Twitter and called the lawmakers, "imbeciles." 

Although I'm inclined to agree with that characterization, his demeanor and verbiage showed obvious, outward contempt for Congress.    

As has been traditional in Congress for the last seven years, look for a whole lot of screaming, yelling and wringing of hands, followed by... nothing.  

In the meanwhile, dig into your pockets; prices are going up even more.  It's called the "ObamaCare Effect."

OBAMA ENDORSES ISLAM

Obama has been out on another Muslim crusade, this time visiting a Baltimore Mosque that has had ties to terrorists.  "Islam has always been part of America," he driveled.  He essentially said that the history of our country was founded upon the Islamic religion, citing several prominent politicians of the day as having copies of the Koran.  

He demanded that Americans stop profiling Muslims and treating them differently because of their faith, as he blamed political rhetoric for inflaming hatred against the Muslim community.  “We have to reject a politics that seeks to manipulate prejudice or bias and targets people because of religion,” he said. 

Obama was introduced by a young woman named Sabah: “This visit by our president is an affirmation to all Muslims: we are just as American as any other,” she said. 

The Rev. Franklin Graham Wednesday lashed out at President Barack Obama's visit to the mosque, saying that "the foundations of this nation have nothing to do with Islam."They have "everything to do with the Church of Jesus Christ.  Islam cannot save anyone from hell or open the gates of heaven."  Obama, avowing to be a Christian, should know that.  

Americans stand up for what is right and stand against what is evil or wrong.  I don't hear very many Muslims in America standing up against I.S.I.S. Muslims have historically always fought rabidly against Christians and, in fact, America was founded upon Judaeo-Christian values and principle... a history that even Obama The Omnipotent One cannot change.  

Let's get the facts straight.

WHY BUSH HANGS ON

He's not doing worth a damn in the polls, so why does Bush hang on?  

The Republican "establishment" is not about to give up.  They spent tens of millions of dollars in 2008 and 2012 to keep Thompson and Cain out of the race in order to award the coveted GOP slot to McCain and Romney.  They also spent millions sabotaging Huckabee and other promising hopefuls who wanted to change things up. So it is in 2016.  They are systematically planning to ditch Trump and then Cruz.  They've funneled millions of dollars to PACs established solely for that purpose and they've been focusing on Trump.. heavily in the last week or so.  They even evidently enlisted the help of FOX NEWS in that effort.  

They like Bush.  That can control him and they know he will play the political game the way they want it played; to a lesser extent, they'll go for Rubio or Christie. So, Bush is hanging on, playing the waiting game, trying not to say or do anything that might sideline him completely until the "establishment" does its job.   

That all being said, if you really want to change the way things are being done in Washington, you have to see through all of this and stick to your Trump, Cruz or Carson guns.  You have to set aside the negative ads aimed at those guys and evaluate only the positives.  If one of those three do not end up in the saddle, it's going to be four or more years of the same crap we've been enduring for too many years.

AS THE DUST SETTLES IN IOWA

O'Malley is out and everyone in the GOP race except Carson, Rubio, Cruz and Trump, might just as well get out.  Then, we can see what happens in New Hampshire.  

What is interesting is that between Carson, Cruz and Rubio, you have about 63% of the vote, all representing the anti-establishment. 

The Good Old Boys surely must be shaking in their boots right now.  They deserve it.

NOW WE GET DOWN TO BRASS TACKS

The Iowa Caucuses are upon us, and so begins Election Season 2016 in earnest.  This is where the rubber meets the road. 

All of the talk, the posturing and the politicking have been like seeds in the cornfields, and the crops will now start coming in.  Up until now, the talk has been about the White House but, as we progress day-bay-day toward November, we have to also turn our attentions to the Senate, the House and our local State offices.  Ideally done, this means we have to devote some time out of our busy schedules to investigate the candidates, their histories and their predictable futures. 

This nation is, justifiably, extremely unhappy with our federal government.  If we're going to fix it, (and it is up to us to do that), we're going to have to throw the garbage out; we're going to have to arrange for a while new slate of people in Washington.  It's tough; nobody likes to fire somebody, but when they're not doing the job and flatly refuse to listen to and abide by the will of the people... they have to go.  

Let us stand together, united in the common purpose of restoring the authority and power of government into our hands where it constitutionally belongs.  Let's do together whatever it takes to get our country and our government straightened out.  We need everyone in Iowa to participate in their election process and to set the national tone for the next ten months. 

NOW is the time to act.  We can no longer afford the luxury of ignoring the problem; too much is at stake.
