AFRAID OF THE NEWS

I'm almost afraid to look at a news website or listen to the news on the radio or television.  These days, the only news is bad news.  

It's China warning the United States to stay the hell out of the South China Sea.  It's I.S.I.S slaughtering more Christians while Obama turns his back on their plight.  It's another hostage being captured by Iran while their nuclear program continues unabated, but aided by the infusion of $150 billion more dollars.  It's Iraq coming under the dominance of Iran.  It's Russia's calling up of 150,000 more troops.  It's Obama, sending in a mere 50 special forces personnel to Syria, an act being called a violation of sovereignty by Assad and resulting in a not-so-veiled threat about war from Putin.  

In the first place, we have no business with 9,800 troops in Afghanistan, 50 more in Syria or having our jet aircraft making half-hearted bombing runs over I.S.I.S. positions.  We either need to get out entirely or go in with everything we've got; there can be no successful piecemeal strategy in a war, and we are in a war.  

Any day now I expect to look at the news and see that Putin has shot down one of our planes or that China has taken a potshot at one of our naval vessels.  Who knows? Even the North Korean midget might decide to lob off a missile at South Korea.  

It's time we quit pussy-footing around and time we realize that we desperately need a real president.  I think that waiting for this jackass to leave office is a horrible mistake and a very dangerous move on our part.

IS REAL CHANGE IN THE WIND?

With the changing of the guard in the House Speaker's job, now is a good time to pause and ask: "Is real and positive change just around the corner?  Is it actually beginning?"  

John Boehner did a fine job of holding the Republican House together, but that's about all he did.  During his tenure, the GOP talked a good talk, but failed to make the walk.  I cannot think of one single major issue that Obama did not win, regardless of what the Republican base or the rest of the country wanted.  The House rolled over and played dead so many times that they were constantly having to change the worn-out carpet.  

Politics as usual seems to have come to a screeching halt when you look at what is going on in the presidential race.  All of the traditional maxims about running for office and how to best win have been tossed up the chimney.  The continued insistence of the American public that we have to stop this relentless nonsensical culture that has permeated Washington seems to be sending a loud and clear message that the cavalier attitudes of our elected officials will no longer be tolerated.  

Perhaps, for a welcome change, the winds are finally blowing in a positive direction for the country.  Now, it's up to us to keep the momentum going.

THE BUDGET

I don't know about you, but after dealing with this president and this Congress for the last seven years, I get nervous as a chicken on a hot tin roof when I hear everybody in the House jumping up and down and slapping each other on the back for a great job, while Barack sips on a beer in the Rose Garden and starts planning his next golf outing.  

The last time that happened, we got ObamaCare.

CHINA

SPECIAL POST

This post is not about saucers and cups; it's about a very serious situation intensifying by leaps and bounds in Asia and in the South China Sea.  This impending issue is exacerbated by the total absence of a Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces of the United States, as well as the knowledge that the so-called CIC only has 15 more months left in office.  

Every nation in the world knows that now is the time to push things to the limit... and beyond.  Any president following Obama is surely going to be tougher to deal with than Obama.  

We all know what is going on in the Middle East and we are painfully aware of the fact the Russia is being more mischievous than at any time since the collapse of the Soviet Union.  Drug traffickers are running amok across our southern border and terrorists everywhere are really flexing their muscles.  And then, there's China.  

The nation has recently been made aware of the construction of man-made islands in the South China Sea by China, which has declared that it has sovereign rights over everything contained within the Sea.    They've warned the United States to stay out but, the infamous Barack has violated a basic rule of life by sending a U.S. warship into the area.  Anyone knows that if you are going to be a chicken, you should never stick your head out of the coop, or it might get lopped off.  

Just what in the hell do you think Obama would do if the Chinese decided to sink that warship... draw another red line?  Go play golf in Palm Springs?  Blame it on a video?  

While the tensions rise, China is building a formidable military regime.  They're adding troops and they're greatly upgrading their equipment.  They are in a crash program to advance their capabilities and they're set on surpassing the technological superiority of the U.S.  They're working on lasers, stealth drones, supersonic torpedoes, remotely-controlled tanks, attack submarines, submarine-hunting airplanes and space-launched weapons systems.  

And here we are, saddled with a petulant president who refuses to sign a military spending budget because the American citizens don't want him to close Gitmo.  

Don't you think it's time to start paying attention to what is really going on in the world?

WHEN WILL COP SHOOTINGS STOP?

Cumberland County, Kentucky is the latest location for shooting a cop.  Floyd Ray Cook is accused of Saturday's shootout that left a cop injured.  "He's as dangerous as they come," said Kentucky State Police Trooper Billy Gregory. "I would say anyone that has any contact with him is in danger."  

Of course, the first question that comes to mind is, "How does a guy with a reputation like that get his hands on a gun in the first place?  FOX NEWS reports: "He was convicted of a series of crimes including rape, burglary, robbery, assault and riot in Kentucky in the 1970s and 1980s, according to state corrections department records. Cook was convicted of raping a 19-year-old in Marion County in 1971, records showed. He was required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.  Cook was indicted in July on charges of first-degree trafficking in methamphetamine and tampering with physical evidence, according to Hardin County court records. He was scheduled for arraignment in August but did not appear. A warrant was issued for his arrest and remains outstanding."  

I thought it was against the law for guys like that to have a gun.  Maybe they should write another law making it impossible for good citizens to own a gun so that bad guys like this one will be the only ones able to get guns?  

More importantly, when will this country make it an automatic life sentence for shooting at a cop?

CLINTON'S DOG AND PONY SHOW

It was one big charade, a stage play designed to convince the American public that Hillary Clinton had indeed been held accountable for her role in the Benghazi Massacre.  But, plainly speaking, it was not one iota more successful than any previous Congressional hearing on the subject.  

The House hearing was as phony as a $4.00 bill.  

There were no tough questions.  Hillary was allowed to evade questions and to appear completely cooperative in the investigation, when we all know she has never cooperated.  

The only conceivable explanation is that the Committee knows the answers and they do not want the public to hear them.  

She has stonewalled, delayed, denied and now... she has escaped.  

Congress does suck, and every damned one of them needs to be voted out of office.

SAN FRANCISCO NEEDS TO GO TO HELL

It's bad enough that the U.S. Senate refused to deal with the problem of sanctuary cities and with the Kate Steinle Law.  Now, San Francisco's Board of Supervisors has literally... literally... come out and said that they do not care what America thinks or wants, they do not care about Kate Steinle's death at the hands of an illegal felon and they don't care what national news media sticks their noses into it.  San Francisco will not change its laws or its sanctuary city status, but it will continue to refuse to turn over illegals, (felon or not), to ICE or any other government agency... regardless of the circumstances.  


In other words, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors condones Kate Steinle's death and supports the circumstances that led up to it.  

San Francisco can go to hell.  

I for one, will no longer do any business with any company that does business in San Francisco.

TAKING BACK OUR COUNTRY

I don't care what political party you belong to; you simply have to agree that Washington is broken and that it has been broken for at least 25 or 30 years.  Almost 80% of the country agrees that our government now sucks... big time.  

The discontent is not limited to any one branch of government; people are dissatisfied with the Congress, the Executive Branch and the Supreme Court.  The only way we can straighten this situation out is to toss out every single elected official in Washington and, if necessary to start impeaching Supreme Court Justices who have come to believe that they have more power and authority than the Constitution of the United States upon which our government is founded.  

Anyone and everyone who is up for reelection in Washington needs to be turned out of office.  And that process has to start in the primaries.  

If we set our minds to it, we can and must succeed.

REPUBLICAN HIERARCHY: THE WAR IS ON

Those in charge of the Republican Party have proven that, like their Democrat counterparts, they don't give a damn what Americans want or what is best for the country; in their minds, they are the all powerful, all-seeing, omnipotent ones. 

They're no better than Obama.  

They're bound and determined to orchestrate who the party members will be able to cast their votes for.  They've been doing it for decades.  That's how the party got saddled with McCain and Romney as candidates; it was because the hierarchy orchestrated that end by undercutting and attacking any candidate who got in the way... any candidate who proved to be more popular with the membership. 

They desperately want Jeb Bush or Chris Christi as their "chosen one."  With Trump continuing as the popular leader and Carson running a close second,  the hierarchy is putting into place a plan to dump Trump.  In their minds, once Trump is out of the way, they can go after Carson.  That would surely open the door wide for Bush, which is what they're laying awake at night  conniving to accomplish.  



The war is on.  

This is why they're so set on getting Ryan into the Speakership.  They simply must have "their man" in charge in order to facilitate their "grand plan."  And the fact that the Washington "axis of evil," Obama, Reid and Pelosi, have come out in support of Ryan speaks for itself.  

The fix is in.  

The Party membership has a choice.  They can allow the establishment hierarchy to once again engineer the election, or they can throw the bums out.  Now is the time for all truly American Republicans to come to the aid of their party and enter the races to replace the establishment Republican Congressmen and Senators next year.  

A full Republican House and Senate cleaning is needed in order to return the power of government to the voice of the people, where it belongs.

DISHONEST POLITICIANS SUCK

This thing with Hillary moving far to the left in an effort to regain support in the polls is sick, but all politicians do it.  They've become prostitutes in that they will say and do anything in order to get elected.  

No wonder the outsiders are doing so well.  

All of my life, I have practiced standing up for what I believe in.  And I also am willing to admit my mistakes and to take responsibility for them.  If I offend somebody in the process, so be it.  

I expect the same from my elected representatives.  

So, my suggestion to you this election season is to pay attention to who changes their position on things in response to the polls.  Then, cross them off your list of potential vote-getters.

BACKGROUND CHECKS FOR AMMO PURCHASES?

The State of California, in demonstrating how dumb liberals think, is considering enacting a law that requires background checks to purchase ammunition.  It would require owners to turn in "large-capacity" magazines -- those holding 11 rounds or more -- and report when their weapons are stolen. Perhaps the most controversial provision would handle ammo sales like gun sales by requiring "point-of-sale background checks" for ammunition purchases; dealers also would need a license similar to those required to sell firearms. 

That idea is beyond dumb.  

What would-be criminal is going to turn in large-capacity magazines?  What in the world makes you think that a loon or any other potential criminal shooter is going to be dissuaded by a background check for ammo?  Furthermore, if background checks for guns can't keep guns out of the hands of mentally unstable persons, how are similar laws going to stop the acquisition of ammo?  In the first place, most gun owners have significant amounts of ammo already in their gun closet.  And, if a gun owner reports that a weapon has been stolen, what cop is going to drop everything and start a full-scale search for the stolen gun? 

This is just another way to inconvenience legal gun owners; it does absolutely nothing to stop gun crimes.  Nevertheless, the proposal is being pushed by Lt. Governor Gavin Newsom, who plans to run for Governor in 2018.  Newsom whines that we have to have the ability to protect our families. 

Well, dumbass Newsom, when the criminal breaks into YOUR house, you call the cops and wait for them to stop searching for stolen guns and answer your call for help.  As for me, I'll reach for my Glock and resolve the issue more promptly and, certainly, more safely.   

Perhaps the real answer here is to require that all politicians pass an I.Q. test.

PORK YOU, OBAMA

As I reported last week, the Obama administration had forced a "no pork" rule onto the menus at all federal prisons, citing a questionable "survey" that showed most prisoners don't like their sausage or bacon.  To me, it was a thinly-disguised attempt to please Muslims at the expense of non-Muslims; after all, several Islamic organizations applauded the move.  

Then, Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley demanded to see the actual survey and results and... suddenly, the Bureau of Prisons reversed it's ruling, just one week after its spokesman, Edmond Ross, said pork was the “lowest-rated” food among inmates.  When Ross was asked why the reversal occurred, he said:“I’m not cleared to say anything and I don’t have answers for you.”  I guess the White House told him to keep his mouth shut.  

Obama may profess that he is a Christian, but he proves beyond a doubt every day that he is a Muslim; in fact, while saying he's Christian, he's never denied being a Muslim.  He has, on the other hand, made disparaging remarks about Americans "clinging on to their guns and Bibles" and he's turned his back on the slaughtering of innocent Christians by ISIS.  

Doesn't anyone in this country have the guts to stand up to him and call him out?

ARE WE BEGINNING THE "FINAL DAYS?"

Russia, "the bear," is now firmly entrenched in the Middle East... the lands of David, Joseph, Solomon and Ezekiel.  The world is armed to the hilt, the dialogue is inflammatory and, ominously, no voices of reason shout out for this insanity to end. 

It could be that we have nothing to worry about.  After all, the Bible was written long before America was discovered, so how could its prophecies possibly affect us?  

Maybe Obama is right... maybe we should get out of the Middle East altogether and let them have their Armageddon.  Then, Obama can hop onto his ass, (the Democratic Party???), and ride into the future as the Messiah of the "Second Coming;"  I'm sure Obama would prefer to imagine it that way.  

Has the United States, with its intrusion into the Middle East and its subsequent withdrawal, unwittingly set the stage for the onset of "The Final Days?"  And if so, will that catastrophe be confined to that continent?  

Russia, China, North Korea and Iran are all building up their armies and their military technology, while ours has dramatically begun to lag.  China, while remaining very quiet about what is going on in the Middle East, is building massive military structures in the South China Seas while it advances its technology at an alarming pace; it may even surpass U.S. capabilities to wage war via satellites and drones by the end of the decade.  

How long will it be before someone shoots off a nuke?  And after they do... then what?  

These are truly dangerous times and we cannot afford the luxury of ignorance; we simply must become informed and participate actively in the important and foreboding decisions of the day.

HE'S GOT THE HOTS

Barack Hussein Obama, in dismissing ISIS, Russia, Syria, the Middle East, and the economy, said over the weekend that the number one threat facing the United States is global warming; the results of a recent Chapman University poll disagrees with that.  

Of over 1,500 respondents: 
The number one fear for Americans at 58% is... government corruption.  36.5% fear gun control, 35.7% fear ObamaCare, 33.6% fear a nuclear attack and 30.7% fear global warming.  After all, what would you rather be struck with: a nuclear bomb or a hot day?  

Have you noticed that Obama has switched tactics?  It used to be that everything wrong in the country could be blamed on Bush.  Now, it's global warming.  

I would highly recommend that Obama seek psychological counseling, but I sincerely doubt that there is a reputable psychiatrist in the entire world who would accept the challenge.

THE IMMINENT DEFEAT OF AMERICA?

Although most Americans didn't think it was possible, things are getting more dangerous and ugly in the Middle East by the hour.  For one thing, we are now at war against Russia, whether Obama admits it or not.  

We have been supporting the rebels in Syria.  Russia is now supporting Assad in Syria and is bombing rebel strongholds.  So there we are, in a quagmire that is likely to turn nasty in a split-second.  In the meanwhile, Iran is fomenting a Palestinian uprising against Israel, ISIS is targeting Turkey and Iraq has destabilized to the point of imminent self-destruction.  

And Obama, ever the consummate community organizer, has removed all aircraft carriers from the region and is contemplating removing troops from Afghanistan.  

Frankly, I'm scared as hell.

PLANNED PARENTHOOD "CAPITULATES"

Cecile Richards, President of Planned Parenthood, while vehemently denying the organization has done anything illegal, unethical or immoral, now says the organization will no longer accept payments in exchange for fetal body parts.  

I think she supposes that will end the controversy, but it doesn't.  

"Our decision not to take any reimbursement for expenses should not be interpreted as a suggestion that anyone else should not take reimbursement or that the law in this area isn’t strong."  So, I presume that a third party could accept such payments and then make donations to Planned Parenthood?  

Richards says that this is all about a political attack against abortions.  In so saying, she is asserting that the deliberate and illegal manipulation of the abortion procedure in order to harvest body parts is agreeable with her and her moral conscience.  She is also saying that failure to disclose to patients what will happen to the unborn body parts is ethical.  Finally, she is flatly disregarding the feelings and wishes of the vast majority of Americans who find such practices beyond disgusting.  

Undoubtedly, she would have been highly regarded in Nazi Germany.  

This cannot end here.  This capitulation cannot interfere with investigation and the filing of criminal charges as appropriate.  The medical credentials of every individual who participated in this ugly travesty must be revoked and firm standards of conduct must be enacted and adhered to through regular inspections by government regulators.

OUR ACTIVIST MUSLIM PRESIDENT

I remember the arguments way back when JFK was running for President; he was a Catholic and a lot of Americans felt that he would be pushing the Pope's agenda.  I didn't vote for JFK, but his religion had nothing to do with it and I would have to quickly add that in the time he was President, I don't believe that he ever once pushed Catholicism on the American public.  

But now, we have Barack Hussein Obama, born and raised a Muslim who says he is a Christian.  There are countless examples of Obama pushing the Muslim religion.  This year at the National Prayer Breakfast, Obama said that "People commit horrible deeds in the name of Christ."  After the horrible tragedy at Umpqua where the killer was deliberately killing Christians, Obama made no remarks about that fact, nor has he addressed the I.S.I.S. onslaught against Christians, but he doesn't hesitate to push the Muslim agenda.  Back when the Muslims were positioning themselves to build a Mosque at the sight of the World Trade Center, the White House even arranged for a government grant to help fund the project.  

Now, we have another blatant "in your face" Muslim move.  The U.S. Bureau of Prisons has ordered that all items containing pork be removed from prison menus.  This is a move clearly meant to appease Muslim prisoners at the expense of Christians and others who like their sausage and bacon.  

Setting the argument over whether Obama is truly a Muslim or a Christian aside, Obama is clearly violating the Constitution by mixing U.S. government with religion through his open pro-Muslim agenda, and I am getting sick and tired of it.

BERGDAHL TO GET OFF

Just as I predicted when Obama paraded Bowe Bergdahl's parents out onto the White House lawn and proclaimed what a good deed he had done by releasing five Taliban terrorists in exchange for Bergdahl's freedom, the Army is about to drop General Court Martial desertion charges against the Sergeant.  An Army officer is now officially recommending that Bergdahl face a lower-level court martial and be spared the possibility of jail time for leaving his post in Afghanistan, his lawyer said Saturday.

Lt. Col. Mark Visger has recommended that Bergdahl's case be referred to a special court martial, which is a misdemeanor-level forum. It limits the maximum punishment to reduction in rank, a bad-conduct discharge and a term of up to a year in prison.  

The continuing delay and silence about this case made it plain early on that presidential politics would rule over military discipline.  As a veteran, I can't even begin to relate to you the anger and outrage, now totally morphed into complete contempt, that I feel for Barrack Hussein Obama. 

In the meanwhile, four Americans rot in a putrid Iranian jail while our president has given the Iranians access to nuclear weapons and not even once asked the Iranians to turn loose of their hostages.  

Why has this country turned into a nation of sheep?

NO TO PAUL RYAN

Paul Ryan told NBC News through a spokesperson yesterday that despite Republicans calling for him to enter the race for Speaker of the House, he's still not interested.  

He's a smart man.  

Frankly, I have a great deal of respect for the guy.  He and I are far apart on the issue of amnesty for illegals, but I certainly agree with him on most things.  And, he's intelligent, articulate and above all... an American through and through.  

But, he needs to stay out of the Speakership; now is not his time.  The House Republicans have become dysfunctional and divided; they have no coherent platform upon which to stand and conduct business.  It's a continuing battle of the establishment hierarchy vs. the American Patriots and, unfortunately, Ryan is identified as being with the establishment, whether he fits the category or not. What they need right now is someone who is a good leader, a uniter and not identifiable with either faction... someone who can successfully bridge the gap.    

I think Paul would become a lightening rod for the establishment.  Certainly, John Boehner would back him, and therein lies the rub; Boehner-style leadership sucks.  

That having been said, I'm not recommending or endorsing anyone in particular.   

Once again, the Republicans find themselves in a position to accomplish some really get things, but history shows that they will choose to shoot themselves in the foot as opposed to grabbing the torch of American leadership this country so desperately needs.  

Come on, fellows... put the country first for a change.

IS CARSON A “COON?”

University of Pennsylvania Professor Anthea Butler, who has a history of making derogatory and racially fueled comments, is now under fire for suggesting Dr. Ben Carson deserves a "coon of the year award" for his support of flying the Confederate Flag on private property.  

If you look it up on Wikipedia, "coon" may refer to:

• Coon, a diminutive of raccoon
• Coon, an alternative name for Maine Coon, a breed of domestic cat
• Coön (Κόων, Κόωνος), a Trojan warrior who fought in the Trojan War
• Coon cheese, is the trademark of a cheddar cheese produced by the National Foods company in Australia
• Coon Carnival, a yearly minstrel festival in Cape Town, South Africa
• "The Coon", an episode of U.S. animated series South Park
• Coon, a racial slur, used pejoratively to refer to a black person, especially an African-American or Australian Aboriginal
• Coon Chicken Inn

I don't look at Ben Carson as being a furry animal.  He may be a hip cat,  but I don't know that he's domesticated.  I think he's too young to have fought in the Trojan War and I don't know that he likes cheese.  Well, you get the gist of where I'm going with this, don't you?  

If you're going to apply the word "coon" to anyone in this country, it should be Obama.  As far as Carson goes, he appears to me to be a principled gentleman and Butler is obviously a shameful racist.

VIOLENT CRIME IN AMERICA

Here are some interesting facts, starting with a study run from 1973 through 1982, in which violent crimes included the use of guns, (35%); knives, (29%); rock, stick or some other object, (35%).  Not every violent crime in this country involves the use of a gun.  

In countries where guns have been confiscated, there has been a corresponding increase in the number of crimes committed using a knife.  The elimination of guns in this country will not stop violent crime.  

In cities where the possession of guns by citizens has been made seriously difficult due to gun control laws or measures, violent crime rates and murder rates have shot sky-high.  Yet, hundreds of thousands of people nationally, probably millions, have been buying guns and the overall national rate of violent crimes has been sinking as more citizens become armed.  Gun ownership decreases violent crime.  

There are countless societal factors in our country which adversely affect mental stability and morals.  The lack of mental stability and morals is the underlying cause of violent behavior.  To my knowledge, there have been no extensive and intensive studies of those societal factors.  In fact, current national policy encourages immigration to this country by violent criminals, while the Obama administration is now opening prison gates to give early release to thousands of convicts.    

It's time that we set aside the political rhetoric, take a hard look at the actual facts and start calling a spade a spade.

OBAMA LIKE A HEADLESS TURKEY IN THE BARNYARD

While Putin's Russia runs roughshod over the Middle East, virtually destroying everything we accomplished there since 9/11, while the country reels with the realization that Iran will have achieved nuclear weapons capability probably by the end of Obama's term, and while Congress remains impotent to stop Obama's rampage of unfettered power... Obama is again changing the discourse of the day by announcing that he doesn't give a damned about the Second Amendment and that he is going to once again used "Executive Powers," this time to instill gun control on America.  

It's a tactic he has used countless times, over and over and over again; whenever he gets into deep shit over any issue, he creates another issue in order to deflect the national attention and, of course, his White House controlled media just licks it all up.  

“It’s a high priority and will continue to be until we start to see more progress on this issue in this town,” White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest told reporters today at a press briefing.  

This so-called president is dangerous.  He needs to be impeached and removed, but his stooges in both Houses of Congress would rather see America go down the tubes than to deal objectively and forcefully with the Obama problem.

HILLARY DEMANDS: "TAKE BACK THE SECOND AMENDMENT"

Hillary Rodham Clinton, the elitist Democrat who has never made a mistake or told a lie in her life, is now demanding that a new gun rights group be formed to "take back the Second Amendment" from the NRA. Blasting the National Rifle Association, she came right out and blamed members for the shootings at Umpqua College. 

Her remarks did not include acknowledgement that the killer was only after Christians, that he was a black and a sympathizer with other mass shooters as well as Black Lives Matter, or that I.S.I.S. had claimed he was a "lone wolf shooter" working for them.  In the meanwhile, all of his radical posts on social media are being systematically scrubbed.   There were even unconfirmed reports that Mercer's name was included on a list of potential terrorists who were seeking to go to the Middle East, a list which the Obama administration had refused to accept, because it was too "politically sensitive."   

Nor did she address the fact that the school was a gun-free zone; the security guard on duty only carried a can of mace.  Theoretically, the only person on campus with a gun was the deranged, terrorist anti-Christian killer; everyone else was a sitting duck. 

Hillary, I've had it up to here with your agenda, Obama's agenda and Michael Bloomberg's agenda.  I am an American and I have every right to defend myself.  I have not ever fired a weapon at anybody, although I have been around guns all of my 73 years in life.  I too am a Member of the NRA, and have yet to attend any meeting or function where gun violence was encouraged or tolerated.  In fact, the NRA has done far more to promote gun responsibility and safety than you or any of your mealy-mouthed friends.  

If you don't like our country, its Constitution or its history, Hillary, pack your bags and leave. There are millions of us who would welcome your expeditious exit.

GUN VIOLENCE: WHAT WE NEED TO DO

I said it way back then, after the shootings in Newtown:  All sides need to work together to determine the causes and find solutions for not only gun violence, but violence in general.  There's not a single one of us who owns guns who advocates for the continuation of violence; yet, we justifiably see the argument as a way to abrogate our Second Amendment Rights.  We fully understand and know that taking away guns from honest, law abiding citizens is not only going to fail in solving the problem, but it is going to exacerbate the problem.  

But, we can't just sit on those facts and do nothing, either.  I said it then, I'll repeat it:  We need to be working together to find ways to decrease the sociological factors which lead to violence.  And, I'm not necessarily in agreement that taking guns away from those with mental problems will accomplish this.    I mean... who is mentally incompetent?  If someone hates blacks, or gays, or cops or whites... I don't know that hatred or dislike constitutes a mental illness.  Nevertheless, people who fit those categories sometimes commit violent acts.  

Once again, I strongly suggest that Obama and his goons quit the anti-gun rhetoric, just as I suggest that the NRA set aside its "do nothing" attitude, and that we form a commission of cops, priests, psychiatrists, sociologists and like-minded experts in their fields to research and identify the root causes of violent behavior, and that the committee makes recommendations as to how we as a society can eliminate or mitigate those factors.  

It seems to me those on both sides of the gun control debate have entrenched themselves in their positions to the extent that they cannot, or will not, see the forest through the trees.

CHEW ON THIS

Here's something for you to chew on: If the Umpqua shooter was a black, Obama wouldn't have a word to say and the liberal media would not be discussing it.  

How can I say that?  

Between Washington, DC and Chicago, there are dozens of people killed every weekend in black gun violence, and you don't hear a word about it.  

Granted, that fact does not excuse these horrible shootings, but let's get the facts straight before we start pointing the fingers.

Once again we have a heinous shooting and once again his majesty, Baracko Obama, blames guns...the owner of guns and Congress.  

Well, outside of doing everything you can to trample on the Constitution and seize our guns, just what have YOU done about it, Baracko?  Have you formed any commissions to study the underlying social causes?  Have you met with top law enforcement officials to discuss the subject and obtain their input?  

As long as you are so freely laying blame for your own shortcomings on everyone else in the country except yourself, maybe you wouldn't mind explaining why you single-handedly gave the the most dangerous weapon on the face of the earth, a nuke, to Iran.  

Who in the hell do you think you are?

A LOUZY VACATION

So here I was, tooling around the beautiful landscape of New Mexico, taking in the genuine Southwestern flavor, watching an eclipse with treasured relatives, touring the Very Large Array... oblivious to the world around me.  Every now and then, I'd catch a snippet of news and be tempted to dash out a post, but I held my ground through Obama's meetings with the Pope, Putin, Jintao, Castro, as well as Walker's ride off into the sunset and even Boehner's announcement of his resignation.  

Then, the dream vacation came to a very rough end.  

When I left, Obama and Congress had just finished giving Iran a clear path to possession of a nuclear weapon.  Yesterday, they decided to spit on the graves of every dead American veteran who gave his life in Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, Kuwait...and gave the entire Middle East to Putin.  

The people in my government make me sick.  The people who tolerate the people in our government make me sick.  

There's not a damned thing we're going to do about it.  Nothing.  The Republicans simply don't care, no matter how much they pretend to.  The Democrats are all on board.  Obama's so happy he's even publicly talking about the day he's going to close Guantanamo and give it back to Cuba.  And there's not a damned thing that is going to happen to stop all of this because Congress only responds to Americans when they are shouting and screaming at the tops of their lungs and most Americans simply don't seem to care.  

Americans don't care about killing babies and selling body parts.  They don't care about the total disregard of national security by a presidential candidate.  They don't care about what happened at Benghazi.  

Well, the Big Bear is solidly in the Middle East and we're out.  The Big Bear has told us to pack up and get out, and Obama and Kerry are pounding their chests, drawing more red lines in the sand and saying we're not leaving.  If you want to know what's going to happen next, read the Bible.  

Just what do you think we're going to do when Iran nukes Israel with Russian-made guided missiles?
