Oh, you need to be frightened out of your wits. Since the NSA phone surveillance has officially ended, the world is going to come to an end. The FBI and CIA will no longer be able to monitor terrorists and our entire national security system will collapse. Shudders!
That's all one big lie.
It seems as if the government wants the public to cave in on something the government wants to do, when the public doesn't want it done, the government always resorts to a scare tactic. Good God, Felix, if you don't jump on board with the ObamaCare program, millions of Americans will die.
If the government wants to spy on you, grab your telephone records, listen in on your calls or whatever, the law provides that they can show up with their reasons to a judge who will ascertain their validity and then issue them a warrant. That, my friends, is the legal system our forefathers set up to protect us from illegal search and seizure by the government while still providing the government with the ability to ensure national security.
All this NSA thing is about is that the government is lazy and wants to avoid the "hassle" of proving their need to a judge, so they want you to give up your right to protection from illegal search and seizure to make things more convenient and easy for them. Hence, the scare tactic.
I'm all for stopping and catching terrorists, too; but, let's do it the legal way and dispense with the hysteria.
