ABOUT JOURNALISTS: THE UNDERSTATEMENT OF THE DECADE

SPECIAL POST

THE BLAZE is reporting "Face the Nation” moderator Bob Schieffer, who signed off the air this weekend after more than two decades hosting the CBS Sunday morning show, told Fox News’ Howard Kurtz that it’s possible the media weren’t skeptical enough of Barack Obama during his first presidential run in 2008.  “Maybe we were not skeptical enough,” Schieffer acknowledged.  But, he went on to  place the bulk of the responsibility on Obama’s opponents. “It was a campaign … it is the role of the opponents to make the campaign. I think as journalists — what we do is watch the campaign and we report what the two sides are doing.”

As if to say, "Yeah, we made a mistake, but it was not our fault."  How many times have we heard that line since Obama took office?
The responsibility of the "Fourth Estate," (journalists), is to dig out the facts and to report them, fairly and objectively.  Journalists in this country have predominantly been educated in left-wing liberal institutions and have had their eyes and ears adjusted accordingly.  In the process, they have neglected to learn the fundamental requirements of good journalism... fairness and objectivity.  And, it naturally follows that their political leanings have come to be in sync with the liberal wing of the Democratic Party.

Unfortunately, things have evolved to the point that there are very few sources of journalistic information available to Americans these days that we can trust to be fair and impartial.  To that extent, journalism and the fourth estate have become as useless to us as teats on a boar hog.

That's MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.
