THE NEW CONGRESS: WHAT'S AFTER NOVEMBER 2012

SPECIAL POST

When the sun finally sets on November 13, 2012 and the votes are counted, I think every seat in Congress that can be turned over will be.  The only ones who stand the slightest chance of surviving are the “new breed” of 2010, and they are doubtful.  Two-thirds of the Senate will remain intact; one third is new and won’t be up for reelection until 2016, one third will be turned out in 2014.

We will undoubtedly have a new President, and I’m not sure if it will be Hillary Clinton or Joe the Plumber.  If Hillary should decide to run, she’d beat Obama 2 to 1 in the Democratic primaries. Frankly, she and Barney Frank are the only two possibilities the donkeys currently have of retaining the Presidency.  Well, I left out Anthony Weiner.

The Democrats have a lot more to worry about than trashing Mitt Romney, Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann.  Yet, they seem to be intent on that focus.  Let them be, because all they are doing is underscoring the fact that they are not entitled to their offices on their merits; their philosophy seems to be that they don’t have to do a good job as long as they can successfully trash their enemies.

So, if the Republicans come out winners in 2012, and they likely will, then what?  If history repeats itself, as it has consistently done with the Republicans, they will proactively seize the opportunity to do nothing.  ObamaCare will not be repealed, there will be another hike in the debt ceiling, the sniping will continue and another Bush will be President.

You might ask yourself why this endless merry-go-round just goes on, and on, and on…

This is where you come in.

Go look in the mirror.  We’re the ones at fault.  Our Constitution provides that nothing can be done in Washington “without the consent of the governed.”  If we continuously allow the occupants of those seats of power to abuse their power, we are the ones who should be locked up.  We simply have to stop this loony asylum now.  We cannot wait for November of 2012 to get started; we must start today.  We have to take charge of our own destinies starting this very minute.  We have sat on our duffs for so long that it is truly a challenge to get up, but we must.  There are too many unemployed, too many homeless, too many poor and our economy is in too much of a mess; it must not be allowed to continue.  We must chop off the snake's head.

The plain, simple fact of the matter is that we cannot tolerate four more years of you!  You and I are the ones who need to change. We must set aside the time in our lives to investigate and discover what is going on and to do something about it.

If we don’t start now, it won’t get started.

That’s MY AMERICAN OPINION, respectfully submitted.
