REBORN AMERICAN: The Sequel

There was a time in this country when political differences didn’t stand in the way of getting positive things done. We’d have an election and everyone would choose sides and the barbs would fly but, when the last vote was counted we all got behind the winners and we rolled up our sleeves and we got things done. In those days, you see, we elected Americans to office, people who wore their patriotism proudly and who always put the best interests of the country before their own.

It hasn’t been that way for decades.

What has changed is that we have allowed big money interests to taint the election process, and we allow big money lobbyists to line the hallways of Congress and the White House. To make matters worse, we have gotten our country way over its head in debt, and in order to do that we have had to make certain ideological compromises in our international affairs.

The fact that we used to be able to trust our nation’s leaders to do what was right lulled us into a false sense of security. When the wheels of our democracy started to come off in Washington, we were unwilling to believe that our leaders were really allowing it to happen. We were in denial. Now, after all of these years of complacency, we suddenly get whacked over the head and we realize that our democracy, our liberty, our way of life is under attack, and that we are very close to losing those things that our forefathers died to preserve for us.

We can turn this disaster around. We can regain control of our nation. We can turn Socialism, Marxism and Fascism on their ears and we can flood the exit gates with the hides of those who would bring this country down. But, my friends, it’s not going to be easy. We’re going to have to roll up our sleeves again, and we’re going to have to stand side-by-side, American by American, and set our differences at rest while we tackle the issues before us, one by one.

We need to straighten out our system of justice in this country so that everyone is equal before the law again. We’re going to have to deny the fruits of citizenship to those who are not citizens and who cross our borders illegally and stay here sucking our economy dry. We’re going to have to virtually clean house in Washington… Republican, Democrat, Independent…they all need to be tossed out on their ears, and we need to elect those who will restore the fundamentals of good government of the people, by the people and for the people and who will serve our country with honor and dignity.

The accomplishment of all of these things, the return of the power of government to the people will cause the issues of health care, of high taxes, of government waste and runaway spending, of crime… All of the nation’s ills can be solved by themselves when we restore the course of our ship of state to the glory of freedom, liberty, justice, democracy and patriotism from which we have strayed.

These things we can and we must do. We are Americans. We love our country and we cannot, we must not fail. We must work and toil day and night to be ever vigilant in our pursuits and to be steadfast in our purpose. This is our country. We want it back, and we want it back now.
