California Recall: Newsom Gets to Call the Shots

Faced with what will most assuredly result in his recall from office, Gavin Newsom has done what any fine, upstanding Democrat would do under the circumstances: change the rules. 

 

The Democrat-Controlled California Legislature has rammed through legislation that will grant the governor virtually total control over his own recall, including moving up the date to his advantage. Previously, the recall was expected to take place sometime in October or November, but by waiving some of the time constraints, the recall can now occur in late August or early September.  

 

“This is how elections are fixed in California. Democrats pick a number out of a dark place, announce it, ‘waive’ an election law, & rig an election date around polling driven by governor handing out cash to people he impoverished. We scold foreign countries for corruption like this,” conservative attorney Harmeet Dhillon tweeted.

 

What upsets me most is that Americans seem to be content to allow such atrocities to happen. That, my friends, is why this country is where it is in the year 2021.
